Akkari Puts Four Bets in Preflop, One on Flop

Level 24
Andre Akkari
Andre Akkari

Limit Hold'em

After Greg Mascio opened with an accidental limp from the hijack when he intended to raise, Andre Akkari took care of the raise himself in the cutoff.

Kristan Lord called in the small blind and Richard Tatalovich then put in three bets from the big blind.

Mascio folded, but then Akkari put in a fourth bet. Lord folded, but Tatalovich called.

The flop came {4-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Tatalovich checked to Akkari who bet, leaving himself just one big bet behind. Tatalovich then took a few moments then begrudgingly folded his hand to send the pot to Akkari.

Kevin Gerhart: {x-}{x-}/{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} - folded fifth street

Picking the action up on fourth street of a four-way pot, Tomasz Gluszko was first to act and bet. He was immediately raised by Perry Friedman. Kevin Gerhart called, as did Roberto Marin.

Still with the betting lead on fifth street, Gluszko now opted to check. Friedman bet, Gerhart folded, and Marin now went into the tank for three minutes before opting to call. Gluszko also called and the trio saw sixth street.

Friedman now paired his seven and bet with the lead. Marin folded, but Gluszko called.

On seventh street, Friedman check-called a bet from Gluszko, who showed trip aces.

Friedman double-checked his cards before showing three pair and tossing them into the muck.

When asked by Friedman if he caught the third ace on seventh, Gluszko nodded and said he did.

Akkari checked when Tatalovich hit a third club, Tatalovich checked behind.

Akkari bet sixth street. Tatalovich thought for a bit before raising, enough to put Akkari all in. Akkari then thought for a while before going with his hand.

"I've got a flush," said Tatalovich, which left Akkari drawing dead going to seventh and he was eliminated.

Lawrence Brandt: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}/{x-}

Greg Mascio completed Yarron Bendor's bring-in. Lawrence Brandt then made it two bets to go and was called by Richard Tatalovich.
Bendor then made it three bets to go and both Brandt and Tatalovich called to start building a big side pot.

On fourth street, Tatalovich checked, Bendor bet, Brandt called and Tatalovich called.

Brandt had the betting lead on fifth but checked, as did Tatalovich. Bendor continued betting and was again called in both spots.

The action on sixth street was identical with action checked to Bendor who bet and was called by both opponents.

The trio then checked seventh in the massive pot, with Bendor revealing he began with rolled-up threes.

Tatalovich then showed pocket queens which became trips on fourth street.

Neither Brandt nor Mascio could show a better high hand or a low, and Tatalovich went to break scooping a massive pot.

Perry Friedman: {x-}{x-}/{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} - folded fourth street

After Yarron Bendor completed, Perry Friedman called and Richard Tatalovich defended his bring-in.

On fourth street after pairing his queen, Bendor bet out, Friedman folded and Tatalovich called.

On fifth street, with Tatalovich now showing three diamonds on board, Bendor checked and Tatalovich now bet.

Bendor called, then checked sixth street with Tatalovich now picking up a fourth board diamond.

Tatlovich bet again and Bendor called.

The players each checked seventh street, with Bendor showing two pair, queens and sixes, while Tatalovich showed a maybe unexpected holding of a better two pair of aces and threes, with no flush.

Still, it was the best hand and earned him another sizable pot as he makes a move toward the chip lead.
