Jamie Gold In The Field Before The Break

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

The late registration line is getting shorter and shorter, and the screens now display a number of 3,587 entrants.

A few notable players have been patient and finally took a seat, such as 2006 WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold. However, he only enjoyed his seat for a few minutes because players have just been sent on a 20-minute break.

Four-Bettors Plan Foiled by Ferguson

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

The action was opened under the gun by Demetric Ferguson to 1,900. The action folded to a player in late posiiton who put in a three-bet to 5,500. The very next player then went into the tank for a moment before putting in the cold four-bet all in to about 46,000.

The remaining players folded back to Ferguson who snap called and the three-bettor took a moment before getting out of the way. The two players were now all in with the late position four-bettor at risk.

Late Position: JJ
Demetric Ferguson: AA

The full board ran out 9K3210 and Ferguson would be the recipient of a pile of chips in the early levels of Day 1.

Wood Doubles

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Action was caught when Jeremy Wood shoved from middle position with 10,900 chips. The rest of the table folded, except for the under the gun player who snap-called.

Jeremy Wood: QJ
Under the gun: AJ

Wood hit his queen on K5Q, but the flop opened a straight draw for his opponent. The K on the turn didn't change anything, and the 7 didn't do much either.

Kassouf Out

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Javier Tsunamy opened from the button to 2,000, but the small blind three-bet to 5,500. Tsunamy called but didn't play much longer as he folded after the 3,000 continuation bet on 68Q.

On the next hand, William Kassouf in middle position pushed all his chips in the middle for around 15,000 into the middle. Another player in middle position called, and the others folded.

William Kassouf: A3
Opponent: KJ

Kassouf was hoping for the aces after the flop JQQ. But the 10 on the turn and the 5 on the river led to his elimination. "All in on a 300 blinds pot," he joked while filming the board, before leaving the area.

Action folded to former WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold in early position who opened to 2,300. A player in middle position called and the big blind defended.

The A78 flop hit the felt and the big blind checked. Gold opted to continue for a sizing of 5,000. The late positon player folded and action was back on the big blind. They took about a full two minutes in the tank staring down Gold before making the fold.

Gold scooped and smiled as he turned over the A to show he had the goods.
