Chen Takes from Matsueda

Level 37 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

On a heads-up flop with around 5,000,000 in it, Junya Matsueda checked to his opponent Andy Chen, who bet 2,000,000. Matsueda quickly called and they two continued to the turn A, which saw him check-call once more, this time for 2,500,000.

On the river 8 then action went check-check and Chen tabled AJ for aces and threes, which prompted a hasty muck from Matsueda to award him the pot.

Chen Doubles Matsueda

Level 37 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

Andy Chen kicked off the action on the button with a raise to 2,500,000. Junya Matsueda, in the big blind, decided to go all in with his remaining 10,300,000. After asking the dealer for a count, Chen called.

Junya Matsueda: AK
Andy Chen: 44

Chen, slightly ahead with his pocket fours, was hoping Matsueda would miss the board. However, luck favored Matsueda as he hit an ace on the flop AJ5. The turn 8 and river 8 brought no help for Chen, securing the double-up for Matsueda.

Stinson Leaves the Tournament Floor to Cool Off

Level 37 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

The pot had grown to approximately 15,000,000 with two players looking at a full board of JA59K.

Thomas Stinson, in the cutoff, checked to Bohdan Slyvinskyi, on the button. Slyvinskyi bet out 6,000,000 and Stinson made a quick call.

Slyvinskyi tabled 99 for a turned set of nines. Stinson, very frustrated to lose the pot, slammed his A10 onto the table.

Stinson informed the table of his regrets about not placing a continuation bet on the flop before he left the tournament floor to cool off.

Andy Chen: 1010

Glantz would need to find a hand to stay alive, and the flop of 337 wasn't a bad start for him. He didn't have to sweat too much longer as the J peeled on the turn to put him in the lead and the river was the A to secure him the double.

Thomas Stinson moved all in for 8,500,000 from the cutoff and Bohdan Slyvinskyi made the call, from the button.

Thomas Stinson: K10 All in
Bohdan Slyvinskyi: A10

Stinson was in bad shape and the 27J9 runout made his departure likely, however, the K river put him out in front to double up.

Stinson erupted out of his chair in celebration. "Give me all that money back" he shouted to the room, presumably referring to the pair's earlier confrontation.

Welch Is Going Back and Forth

Level 38 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante

Joshua Welch, seated at the button, opened the action with a raise to 2,600,000, which was called by Andy Chen.

On the flop 6K8, both players opted to check.

Welch took the initiative on the turn 5, betting 3,500,000, which Chen check-called.

No further action occurred on the river 7, leading to a showdown. Welch revealed A7 for a pair of sevens, while Chen showed A8, increasing his stack as Welch's stack dwindled to 8,500,000.

In the very next hand, Martin Alcaide started things off from middle position with a raise to 2,500,000. Welch, now in the cutoff, responded by going all in.
