The focus of players heading to the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is on tournament poker, and rightly so because that is what the WSOP is all about.
One hundred live bracelet-awarding events plus 30 online events adorn the bustling 2025 WSOP schedule. It is fair to say that tournaments dominate Las Vegas when the WSOP is in town.
But what about cash games? Everyone knows Las Vegas is the place to be if you are a cash game grinder. Is it worth playing cash games during the WSOP? The answer is a resounding yes.

Diana Allen made it 4,000,000 from the hijack and Jamey Mckay shoved the button for around 10,000,000. After getting the count, Allen tossed in calling chips.
Jamey Mckay: K♥10♥
Diana Allen: Q♥J♠
Mckay was in front, but not for long as the 10♣J♦9♦ flop gave Allen a pair and open-ended straight draw. Mckay had a straight draw of his own but never found it when the 4♥ hit the turn. Both players improved on the K♦ river as Mckay made two pair, but it was no good as Allen improved to a straight to secure the knockout.

Caleb King: A♦10♣

Mark Ellerbe shoved all in from middle position and was called by Brian Kelley in the small blind.
Mark Ellerbe: A♥9♣
Brian Kelley: A♦K♠
Ellerbe knew he was in trouble with the dominated hand and it ran out per the odds, with Kelley taking more than 8 million chips on a board that ran out 5♥8♠A♠5♠7♥.
Undeterred, Ellerbe was again all-in the next hand under the gun, for 3,550,000. Jeffrey Hong, seated to Ellerbe's left, made the call, but then bowed out when Benjamin Eilers made an all-in bet.
Mark Ellerbe: A♣5♣
Benjamin Eilers: K♣K♦
It didn't take long for Ellerbe to overtake Eilers' kings, as the flop hit A♥5♦J♥. His pair held on turn and river of 4♥7♠.

Peter Saeyang found himself with only 700,000 behind after putting in the big blind. Ever the sport, he held his bounty up and told the whole table, "All you can eat guys," even before the cards were dealt.
After the hole cards were dealt, he went, "I'm not even going to look." So when Michael Wilklow opened to 7,000,000 in middle position and action was folded to him, Saeyang snap-called with his remaining chips.
Peter Saeyang: J♠2♥
Michael Wilklow: K♥Q♠
The flop came Q♣9♠A♥ immediately giving Wilklow a pair which made Saeyang start packing his bags. Seeming to be the most popular guy on the table, he started saying his goodbyes to everyone as the runout 4♥6♥ was completed.
With a smile, he bid everyone good luck as Wilklow scooped the pot.
