Lepovic in the Danger Zone

Level 38 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

Jose Boloqui raised top 3,000,000 on the button with the A4 and Brett Lim folded in the big blind. Elan Lepovic let go of the Q6 in the big blind and dropped to six and a half blinds after the hand.

Lepovic then jammed the last 6,400,000 with the K5 and Dennis Carlson in the big blind asked for a count holding the Q2. No call followed and Lepovic survived to fight another day.

Very few of the recent hands had even seen the flop with Lepovic as the shortest stack among the final four.

Lim Hits Quads Deuces Again

Level 38 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante
Brett Lim
Brett Lim

Brett Lim opened to 3,000,000 first to act with the A10 and Jose Boloqui defended his big blind holding the KJ. Both players checked the Q93 flop and Boloqui then led the Q turn for 6,000,000 with his gutshot straight draw. Lim mulled it over for a short while and folded the best hand.

In the next hand, Boloqui in the small blind opened to 3,500,000 with the 109 and Lim let go of J9. Lim limped his next small blind but folded when Elan Lepovic jammed with the K5.

Up next, Lim opted to limp the button with the 22 and Dennis Carlson checked his option with the K4 in the big blind. Earlier today, Lim had hit quads deuces and did so again until the 9522 turn with both players checking to the 10 river. Carlson now bet 2,500,000 and Lim then raised to 8,000,000, instantly winning the pot without any resistance whatsoever.

Lim Gets Boloqui To Fold the Superior Hand

Level 38 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

The action folded to Jose Boloqui in the small blind and he raised to 2,500,000 with the JJ, earning a call from Brett Lim with the Q9. The 985 flop saw Boloqui with a check and Lim bet 3,000,000. Without any hesitation whatsoever, Boloqui check-raised to 8,500,000, and Lim tossed in the extra chips for the call.

After the A turn, Boloqui checked the second street in a row and Lim pondered about his next move, glancing several times at the board and his opponent. Lim then bet 9,000,000 and Boloqui instantly grabbed some possible calling chips while blowing out some air. However, he went deep into the tank and even tried to start some table chat without getting any reply or reaction of Lim, who was staring away from him.

"Sorry guys, I have a big hand," Boloqui apologised to the table after all his previous questions to Lim were left unanswered. He folded shortly after and Lim raked in the pot to extend his lead.

"Good fold?" Boloqui asked and Lim replied "I don't know, for you or for me? I might still hit the winning hand," the reply came thereafter.

Carlson Jams Into Boloqui

Level 38 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

Dennis Carlson raised to 2,000,000 from the small blind with the K3 and Jose Boloqui defended the 104 in the big blind.

Following the Q95 flop, Carlson continued for 3,500,000 and Boloqui called. The 8 came on the turn and Carlson simply pushed all in for 21,775,000 with just king-high.

Boloqui had a decision to make with his gutshot and flush draw for most of his stack, eventually laying down his hand.

Jose Boloqui: AQ

Lepovic needed help to survive and used his one time while three of the four finalists were on their feet already.

The KJ6 flop propelled Lepovic into the lead, which he retained throughout the 8 turn and 2 river to swap positions with Boloqui.

Dennis Carlson raised to 5,000,000 on the button and Elan Lepovic called in the big blind after glancing at the stack of his opponent.

The flop came 952 and Lepovic checked, Carlson jammed for 21,675,000, and was snapped off.

Elan Lepovic: 55

The A turn left Carlson drawing dead prior to the 7 river and Lepovic suddenly jumped into the chip lead for the heads-up duel against Brett Lim after he was the far-shortest stack only half an hour ago. There will now be a very short break before the WSOP gold bracelet will be up for grabs.
