Harvey Builds His Stack

Harold Harvey opened under the gun to 1,000,000 and got called by Ivan Ruban in middle position.

The flop came 8♣A♦9♠. Harvey continued with a 1,200,000 bet which Ruban called once again. On the turn, he shoved all-in for 5,550,000 which was enough to make Ruban fold.

After two hands, Harvey in the small blind limped and Nicolas Godard checked his option in the big blind. The flop came 9♦4♠7♦.

Harvey led out with 550,000 and Godard decided to hang on with a call. The turn fell J♦.

Harvey shot out 400,000 but Godard decided to go beyond and made it 1,400,000. Harvey went into deep thought and separated the chips he needed to make the call. After a few seconds he folded his hand and conceded the pot to Godard.

Pablo Valdes opened the action with a raise to 1,000,000 from the cutoff. Xizhe Yuan wanted to play for more chips in the next seat over and went all-in for 4,200,000 from the button. Valdes gave it some thought before a call and sent them to a showdown with Yuan at risk.

Yuan was rooting for a chop, but that became less likely as the flop came 7♠J♥J♣ to give Valdes two pair.

The J♠ upgraded Valdes to a full house, and the 2♥ hit Yuan, but it was too little, too late.

Yuan earned $18,669 for his 13th-place finish.

Phil Hellmuth said months ago he would boycott the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Many poker fans on social media, upon seeing video of his grand entrance on Thursday, are probably wishing he'd stuck to his original plan.

The "Poker Brat" traditionally arrives fashionably late for the $10,000 buy-in World Championship event he won in 1989. He showed up about five hours after play began on Day 1b, dressed like a 1980s hair band rockstar, full glam metal hairstyle and all.

After losing an all-in preflop confrontation with A♦Q♥ against Nick Ahmadi' s 8♦8♣, Ivan Ruban was left with a stack under 5,000,000 chips.

In this hand, Ruban was in the big blind and called a raise from Ahamdi in the cutoff.

The flop came K♠5♠4♠, and Ruban checked. Ahmadi bet 700,000, and Ruban went all in. Ahmadi made the call.

All three players checked the flop of 10♥Q♥6♦.

When the K♣ peeled on the turn, Godard and Kadur checked, but Li opted to bet 1,300,000. Godard called, and Kadur folded.

Godard checked again on the 8♣ river, which led to a hefty bet of 3,100,000 from Li. Godard quickly called.

Li showed K♠J♦ for top pair, but it was no good as Godard rolled over A♥K♦ for the better kicker.

The dealer showed 6♠J♥2♠. Li check-called Schill's bet of 750,000. Both players knuckled the turn 4♥.

On the river 8♣, Li led out with a 1,200,000 sending Schill to the tank. Finally, he pushed around 5,000,000 to the middle. Li conceded his hand and the pot to Schill.
