Valdes Doubles Through Cortijo

After action was checked to him on a three-way hand, Pablo Valdes, in cutoff, bet 450,000 on a flop of 3♠Q♣7♣ and a pot of around 800,000.

Lucas Cortijo called from the big blind, and Zhan Guo in late position decided to leave the players to go heads-up going to the turn.

Cortijo checked the 9♥ turn prompting Valdes to shove all-in for around 1,960,000. Cortijo asked for a count then mulled over his situation. He took a few seconds then finally made the call.

The river 9♦ didn't change Valdes' lead. Valdes scooped the pot for a double up as Cortijo started counting his chips looking at how much he had behind.

Duddy called for ace on the flop, even though it would help his opponent. Another player at the table said that they were both going to hit, and he was right as the flop came A♠K♣6♠. The 10♣ turn improved Duddy to two pair, and the 5♥ river gave him the double up, and left Bartholdi very short.
