Hall Gets There the Hard Way Against Brooks

Galen Hall opened from the hijack and John Brooks defended his big blind.

On the 10♦7♥5♠ flop, Brooks checked to Hall who continued for 7,000 before Brooks check-raised to 20,000, and Hall called.

Brooks then led the 8♣ turn for 35,000 and Hall stuck around once more with a call.

On the 6♣ river, Brooks opted to check as Hall toook some time to think before he did the same.

Brooks flopped top pair while Hall flopped open-ended. However, Hall would go runner-runner two pair as he made the best hand to drag another pot.

Brock Wilson opened to 11,000 first to act and was called by Sergio Aguero from directly behind. It was then folded to Aliaksandr Shylko, who made it 40,000 to go on the button.

Wilson responded by announcing he was all in (having both players covered) and both Aguero and Shylko quickly laid their hands down to award Wilson the pot uncontested.

Shakerchi checked the flop of 3♠Q♥J♠ over to Ustimov who bet 18,000 and Shakerchi called.

Both players checked the 3♦ turn to the 5♣ river and Shakerchi check-called a bet of 25,000 from Ustimov.

Ustimov tabled K♣J♦ for jacks and threes which was good for the pot.

The flop came 3♥4♥A♠ and it was checked to Mustafov, who bet 12,000. Enriquez called and Song folded.

Enriquez checked again on the 3♠ turn and Mustafov thought a bit before betting an even 50,000. Enriquez let his hand go and Mustafov was sent the pot.

On the 10♠9♥6♣ flop, the action checked to McEwan who bet 14,000. Jozoff called before Rezaei check-raised to 40,000. McEwan flatted the raise before Jozoff three-bet the flop to 100,000. Rezaei quickly folded before McEwan jammed for 202,500 and Jozoff snapped it off.

It was a brutal cooler in the favor of Jozoff who held through the 8♣4♣ runout to eliminate McEwan as he dragged a huge one.

The Simpsons is widely regarded as one of the most successful and beloved television shows of all time. But actress and high-stakes poker player Jennifer Tilly, who was married to Simpsons co-creator Sam Simon, tried to stop her ex-husband from making the iconic show.

Tilly, the star of the Chucky franchise and a recent guest on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, revealed her skepticism about Simon pursuing the cartoon in a new episode of the PokerNews Life Outside Poker podcast.

"I remember us trying to keep Sam from doing it because he had been offered his own deal, multi-million-dollar deal, at Hollywood Pictures, which was at the time very trendy," Tilly told PokerNews. "And I said, 'Sam, don't you want to be your own person and do your own shows?'"
