Hand #22 - Ylon Schwartz

Ylon Schwartz
Ylon Schwartz
Craig Marquis has the button in Seat 2. Dennis Phillips, sitting in the cutoff, is the first person into the pot, limping in for 300,000. Marquis sends his hand spinning into the muck ahead of a raise from the small blind, Ylon Schwartz, to 1.4 million. Scott Montgomery calls out of the big blind, sending the action back to a thoughtful and newly short-stacked Dennis Phillips, who also calls. This is the first multi-way pot of the day.

The flop is {2-Spades} {10-Spades} {Q-Spades}. Schwartz, as first to act, makes the price of poker 5 million, just more than the size of the pot. With the action on Montgomery, he peeks back at his hand and then calls. Phillips quickly folds, and off to the turn we go.

The {8-Spades} brings a gasp of anticipation from the crowd. Schwartz waits for the noise to die down, then moves all in. Montgomery looks disgusted as he pitches his cards into the muck.
