What Everyone is Playing For - WSOP Circuit Ring

There has been a total of 395 entries come together for the first two flights of the WSOP International Circuit Sydney $2,200 Main Event and of those entries, 73 found a bag and secured their seat in to Day 2.

Day 1C marks the third of a total of four flights that will be played. Those that bag during any of the flights will be coming back for Day 2 on Saturday, December 15.

One of which will be coming back for the second day is chip leader Ali Aflatounian, who dominated proceedings on Day 1B to secure an impressive 430,500, only one of two players returning with over 400,000 so far.

Other notable players to make it through from the two opening flights include; Day 1A chip leader Michael Confos, Ricky Kroesen, Jarred Graham, Brendon Rubie, Jonathan Karamalikis, Jordan Westmorland, Joel Dodds, Michel Bouskila, Andy Lee, Luke Martinelli and Huss Hassan.

After bagging a top-ten chip stack on Day 1B, Huss Hassan made the most of his time off before returning for Day 2 by taking down the $1,320 Six Max. Martinelli will be hoping to do the same, as he returns today as the chip leader of the final table of the High Roller Event.

Players today will receive 30,000 in chips and will play fourteen 45-minute levels with 10-minute breaks every three levels and a dinner break after nine levels.

Skifjeld Runs Into a Set

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The player under the gun called before Julia Skifjeld raised to 350 from middle position. Her opponent in the hijack then bumped it up to 950. The original player folded. Skifjeld called.

Both players checked the {8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop before the {a-Spades} dropped on the turn. Skifjeld checked. The player in the hijack bet 800. Skifjeld raised to 2,400. Her opponent called.

The {6-Diamonds} completed the board and Skifjeld bet 3,100. She was then faced with a raise to 7,200 and didn't seem to impressed. She made the call, then mucked, when her opponent tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a set of jacks.

Rolfe Makes the Call

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The board showed {j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{j-Hearts} and the player in the big blind bet 2,500 and was called by Matt Rolfe in middle position.

The {6-Hearts} dropped on the river and the big blind fired out 4,000.

"Really?" questioned Rolfe with a grin, before his focus turned serious as he stared at the board.

He eventually called and watched as his opponent reluctantly rolled over {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} missing his straight.

Rolfe tabled his {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and took down the pot with two pair.
