Kapoor Busts to Norval in Massive Pot

Level 6 : 300/600, 50 ante

Akshay Kapoor was already all in on the flop of {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades} as the dealer put out the {Q-Hearts} on the turn. The pot had more than 50,000 chips in it and Luke Norval was up against one other player for a side pot. Norval put out a bet of 15,500 and his opponent shoved all in. Norval called it off, making the pot even bigger.

Luke Norval: {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Akshay Kapoor: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

"You got anything?" Norval asked. "I just have a nine. "

Both Norval and the other player had turned a straight to take the lead in the pot and leave Kapoor drawing for a queen or ten. The river was the {7-Diamonds} though and that would spell the end for Kapoor as Norval and the other player chopped the pot each with a straight.

"Wow, I was ahead on the flop," Kapoor said after the hand as he gathered his things and left the tournament area.
