Wong Takes One Down

Level 7 : 300/600, 50 ante

On a flop of {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades} Wai Wong checked from the big blind before the player in the cutoff bet 2,400. David Goldberg was on the button and folded. Wong called.

Both players checked the {8-Diamonds} on the turn before the {8-Hearts} completed the board. Wong then fired out 2,400 of his own and took down the pot after his opponent mucked his hand.

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Jesse McKenzie
Jesse McKenzie

The hand started with the player under the gun raising to 1,600 and getting called by the player in the hijack. Jesse McKenzie then three-bet to 6,400 from the small blind before the player in the big blind moved all in for just short of 30,000 in chips. The action folded back to McKenzie who quickly called.

Jesse McKenzie: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

McKenzie had found himself behind until the board ran out {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} to see him hit runner-runner spades to make a flush and send his opponent to the rail.

O'Grady Gets Caught

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

The board was showing {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Michael O'Grady checked from the big blind. His opponent in middle position bet out 2,100. O'Grady then raised to 5,500 which caught his opponent by surprise.

"That five didn't help you?" questioned O'Grady's opponent.

"Had it before then," replied O'Grady with confidence.

The bet was called before the {5-Clubs} completed the board.

O'Grady led out for another 7,300 and was called shortly after.

"You win," announced O'Grady with a sly grin, before tossing his cards to the muck relinquishing the pot to his opponent.

Mitchell Rising

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

William Mitchell raised to 1,800 preflop and was called by two players.

The flop came {q-}{8-}{5-} with two clubs. Mitchell led out for another 2,800. Only one came along.

The turn brought the {8-} and Mitchell check-called a bet from his opponent totaling 12,000 before the {3-} completed the board.

Mitchell opted to check and watched as his opponent bet out 17,000. He called and was awarded the pot after seeing his opponent missed his flush holding {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} versus his {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} when the cards were exposed.

McKenzie Pressures Stojanovski

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jesse McKenzie raised to 2,000 from middle position and was called by Peco Stojanovski in the small blind.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Stojanovski checked dark. McKenzie bet 2,000. Stojanovski called.

Both players checked the {q-Spades} on the turn before the {2-Hearts} completed the board.

"Should've bet the turn," said Stojanovski, as he checked over to McKenzie. McKenzie then bet 5,500 and Stojanovski folded.

"If you bet the turn you might've lost more," joked McKenzie after the hand.

Both players had a joke about the hand before the table was broken and the players went their separate ways.

Johan Lees
Johan Lees

The defending champion of this event, Johan Lees, has been spotted in today's field - firing his third bullet of the event.

In a recent hand, Lees checked from the big blind as did the player under the gun. Sam Capra bet out 4,500 from middle position and was matched by the player in the hijack. The option was back on Lees who opted to move all in for his remaining 23,000 in chips.

The rest of the players folded and Lees was awarded the pot.

"Can I show the media guy my hand," Lees joked, before tossing his cards away and raking in the pot.
