AU$20,000 High Roller
Day 1 Started
Welcome to the largest buy-in on the WSOP International Circuit Sydney schedule: the $20,000 High Roller! This event isn't for the weak of heart. Only the best of the best will show up with the confidence to pony up the hefty buy-in to lock horns with poker’s elite.
Last year, Australian Luke Martinelli conquered an impressive field of 50 players, including a heads-up battle with local countryman Ebon Bokody, to take home the $356,250 first-place prize. This year, Martinelli will hopefully be back to defend his crown against some of the biggest names in Australian poker including Jonathan Karamalikis, Corey Kempson, WSOP bracelet winner Jarred Graham, 2019 WSOPC $5K Challenge champion Shivan Abdine and 2018 WSOPC Sydney Main Event champion Alex Lynskey.
Play is scheduled to kick off at 2:15pm local time here in Sydney. Once we start spotting faces as they roll in, we’ll let you know who’s here. Stay tuned to PokerNews for all your live reporting needs and continuous live updates!

Mitri made the call but pitched his cards into the muck when Hanlon turned over to rake in the pot and climb to 61,500, while Mitri dropped to 39,500.

Over on the feature table, Vincent Huang made it 600 to from the cutoff, with Tom Rafferty (button) the only caller to take the action heads-up to a monochrome , which brought checks from both players.
The turn brought a further two checks, and the came off on the river. Huang checked once more and after thinking it over for 30-seconds or so, Rafferty tossed out a single orange 1k chip. Huang looked on the fence about calling or folding but eventually decided on the latter.
Huang dropped to 44,500 after the hand, while Rafferty had evidently been busy as has run his 50k starting stack up to 64,000.
