Camphausen Falls to Rafferty

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Germany's Marc Camphausen has played a stellar Series
Germany's Marc Camphausen has played a stellar Series

Germany's Marc Camphausen had been nursing a short-stack for the majority of the level and finally committed the last of his chips from under-the-gun for a shove of 110,000.

Anish Kumar made the call from one seat over, and Tom Rafferty also called from the big blind, with the two checking it down the whole way on the {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades} run out.

Camphausen had the best pre-flop hand with {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and while this was still ahead of Kumar's {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} Rafferty had hit a pair with {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} which was just enough to bring Camphausen's Main Event to a close. Camphausen will not be unhappy with his performance this series, however, collecting AU$18,344 for his 20th place finish.

Combined with his final table third-place finish in the $5k Challenge, which was good for AU$160,610 and which he satellited into for $500, this brings his total haul up to AU$178,954.

Rafferty stacked up to 2 million after the hand.

Zhou Flushes Kumar

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Steven Zhou
Steven Zhou

Steven Zhou came within a whisker of busting at the feature table, but instead put a nasty beat on Anish Kumar.

It was Shane De Clifford who lit the blue touch paper with an under-the-gun open to 110,000 with Zhou moving all-in for over 1.1 million from the next seat over.

Anish Kumar cold-called from the big blind - usually a sign of strength - and De Clifford must have thought so too from the speed of his fold.

Anish Kumar: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Steven Zhou: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Kumar held the best starting hand in poker but was not happy about the monochrome {q-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Spades} flop and while he faded spades on the {3-Clubs} turn, Zhou got there on the {7-Spades} river to take a big bite out of Kumar's stack.

Dean Blatt Eliminated in 16th Place (AU$22,030/~$15,070)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Dean Blatt
Dean Blatt

Duy Doc Vu cracked Dean Blatt's aces to bring the field down to 15 just minutes after play restarted after the break.

It was Vu the man in the drivers' seat initially, opening to 110,000 from the button with Blatt clicking it back from the small blind. Vu four-bet and Blatt five-bet to 475,000, which Vu called after a little time in the tank.

The {8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop are where the fireworks went off, with Vu check-raising Blatt's 265,000 continuation bet and being beaten into the pot.

Dean Blatt: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Duy Doc Vu: {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Vu had a six-high flush draw and Blatt was unable to fade the hearts, with it coming straight in on the {k-Hearts} turn and the {j-Hearts} river was not the ace Blatt needed to survive.

Blatt headed for the cash desk to collect AU$22,030 for his 16th place finish, while Vu stacked up to 3.7 million after that timely catch.
