Adrian Rarung Eliminated in 9th Place (AU$6,340/$4,345)

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Adrian Rarung
Adrian Rarung

The remaining eight players are just one elimination away from the unofficial seven-handed final table, with Tam Truong flexing his monster stack to send Adrian Rarung to the rail.

Rarong sparked the action with a button raise with Truong re-popping from the small blind and then calling his opponent's shove and the cards were turned over.

Adrian Rarong: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Tam Truong: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}

Rarong was leading pre-flop and stayed in front on the {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop. However, the {3-Clubs} turn gave Truong a pair, which was enough to send Rarong crashing out of the tournament in ninth place for an AU$6,340 payday, while Truong stacked up to ~1.85 million.

"I was feeling lucky," quipped Truong as he padded out his already ample stack still further and he now has more than double that of next closest rival Dinh Pham, who has a little over 600,000.

Andrew Hindmarch
Andrew Hindmarch

Tam Truong raised to 25,000 from under the gun before Nyamdorj Nyamsuren re-raised to 90,000 from the button. Andrew Hindmarch shoved for 102,000 from the small blind. Truong and Nyamsuren called.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Truong checked. Nyamsuren moved all in for his remaining 67,000. Truong snap-called.

Truong: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Nyamsuren: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Hindmarch: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Truong had flopped a flush and led against both opponents.

Neither player would improve after the {9-Hearts} turn and {4-Hearts} river awarding Truong the double knockout.

Harry Basle Eliminated in 13th Place (AU$3,292/$2,250)

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Harry Basle
Harry Basle

A clash between big blind Harry Basle and Tu Le left the former circling the drain after the former potted from the big blind following an under-the-gun Le raise.

Harry Basle: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Tu Le: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} to see Le's jacks hold and Basle was down to his last 7,000 and was all-in from the small blind the very next hand.

Tam Truong made it 30,000 to go pre-flop, folding out the rest of the table and the two players revealed their holdings.

Harry Basle: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Tam Truong: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

"Of course you've got aces there..." quipped Basle good-naturedly to Truong. Basle's final board ran out {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} to bring the field down to the last two tables as Basle hit the rail in 13th place for an AU$3,292 payday.

Luke Edwards

The flop showed {j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Mohammed Elkassir and Luke Edwards checked from the blinds. Con Angelakis bet 15,000 from the cutoff. Elkassir raised to 65,000. Edwards moved all in for 139,000. Angelakis folded. Elkassir snap-called with more behind.

Elkassir: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Edwards: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}

Edwards was at risk trailing with his middle set versus Elkassir's top set.

No help came for Edwards from the {6-Hearts} turn and {a-Hearts} river and he was eliminated in 14th place.

Ricky He Eliminated in 15th Place (AU$3,292/$2,250)

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Ricky He
Ricky He

Tam Truong is increasing his stranglehold on the tournament, with the elimination of Ricky He shooting Truong into the millionaires' club, at least when it comes to chip stacks.

After He limped the cutoff, Truong completed the small blind and Jun Wang checked his option taking play three-way to a flop of {q-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Both Truong and He became embroiled in a raising war, folding out Wang to take action heads-up with all the chips going in on the flop.

Tam Truong: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Ricky He: {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

He held top pair and blockers for Truong's nut flush, though the latter also had a gutshot Broadway draw. However, neither of these came in with Truong getting there through the backdoor, and while the {4-Clubs} turn gave He two pair, the {8-Spades} river gave Truong a straight to scoop the pot.

Truong climbed to 1m in chips, while He hit the rail in 15th for AU$3,292.

Huss Hassan

Huss Hassan's tournament is over with Dinh Pham the man to take all his chips and show him the door, with stacks going in pre-flop after Pham raised from the cutoff and Hassan played back at him from the small blind.

Huss Hassan: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Dinh Pham: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Pham was in front and stayed that way on the {j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Spades} run out to bring the field down to fifteen.

Hassan took home AU$3,292 for his deep run, while Pham stacked up to 490,000.

Christos Giannakelos
Christos Giannakelos

Jun Wang raised to 14,000 from the button and was called by Ricky He in the small blind. Christos Giannakelos then moved all in for 55,000 from the big blind. Wang called. He got out of the way.

Wang: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Giannakelos: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} extending Giannakelos' lead to a pair of aces.

The {k-Diamonds} on the turn sent Wang to the lead with two pair.

Giannakelos was unable to improve after the {3-Hearts} completed the board sending him to the rail in 17th.

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
William Zavos (center)
William Zavos (center)

William Zavos became the first of the paying casualties with Tam Truong the man to send him to the rail, seizing a commanding lead in the process.

Zavos' demise came after Truong had limped from under-the-gun, with Ricky He raising to 15,000 on the button, with Zavos pumping it to 63,000 from the big blind.

Both Truong and He made the call to take the action three-way to a flop of {10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and first to act, Zavos moved all-in for his last 79,000. Truong called and He folded and the hands were turned over.

William Zavos: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Tam Truong: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

Truong had out flopped Zavos and the {8-Hearts} turn and {6-Clubs} river did not change things, with Zavos hitting the rail in 18th for an AU$3,292 payday.

Angelikas Busts Mansour to Burst the Bubble

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Ramin Mansour's exit guaranteed the remaining players an AU$3,292 payday
Ramin Mansour's exit guaranteed the remaining players an AU$3,292 payday

In what proved to be possibly one of the quickest bubble periods ever, following the departure of Hong Xie on the feature table, Ramin Mansour and Con Angelakis played a huge pot that burst the bubble, with no time for the floor to even announce that play had reached the bubble it happened so quickly.

The duo were battling on a board of {8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} with all the chips going in on the turn.

Con Angelakis: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Ramin Mansour: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}

"I didn't think you were that strong, I thought you had aces there," said Angelakis after both players had revealed their respective holdings.

Despite Mansour being the favourite in the hand, the high variance of Omaha became readily apparent on the {2-Clubs} turn and {3-Clubs} river, which game Angelakis the nut flush and stacked him up to 420,000, while a disappointed Mansour was left to rue what could have been. Mansour's departure guarantees all remaining players a cash of AU$3,292.
