Woody Smacks the Deck

Razz; Stud:

Having created what he freely admits is a "Maniac idiot image," and the hands before getting some, "Backdoor sickness," in the form of cracking some Aces with a lot of filth, and betting into a player showing {K-?} {6-?} {4-?} showing {9-?} {9-?} {8-?} in Razz (something which raised slight smiles from his table) and then runner-runnering some kind of horrible Eight-low, Woody Deck was proved at last to have at least been paying attention to what the game was...

Early chip leader Adam Osborne and he got into a raising battle on Fifth Street when Woody, who held split Aces in Stud faced Osborne who showed {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}. Seeing as he himself held down the {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} , he wittered something about Osborne's diamonds not being so good, before switching off somewhat on Sixth and Seventh. No improvement for Woody , while Osborne had picked up the case {A-Spades} - and it looked bad on the river until Osborne announced, "Smooth Eight," not realising that his low was irrelevant and the game had changed. Woody's Aces won.

This story straight from the Horse's mouth, as it were.
