Magician Makes Poker Brat Disappear

Pokus Bratimus
Pokus Bratimus
As the tables were dispersing for the break, we couldn't help but notice Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Hellmuth trash-talking each other. A quick glance at the felt revealed Hellmuth had been eliminated on the final hand prior to the break.

After conferring with The Magician, he revealed that he'd raised with {Q-?}{J-?}, bet 3,600 on a {Q-?}{10-?}{8-?} flop, checked the {10-?} turn and pushed the {10-?} river, Hellmuth check-calling him down with what we are led to be believe was an eight.

Hellmuth, clearly not taking his exit in good spirit, was critical of Esfandari, leading his assassin to suggest a heads-up match for high stakes. Hellmuth didn't officially respond to the request, and simply stormed off, mumbling profanities under his breath and complaining to anyone who would listen.

"I still love you, Phil" shouted Esfandiari, to little effect.

Survival Tactics

John Juanda
John Juanda
John Juanda is like Ray Mears in the jungle at the moment. With a raise (2,200) and a call (Sandor Demjan) in front of him, John Juanda pushed all in for around 20-25,000. Both players folded immediately, and the reigning champion survived.

Harder Distracts Kelopuro From His Magazine Long Enough to Win a Pot

Christian Harder raised from the button and got himself called by Sami Kelopuro in the small blind and Michael Wang in the big. They saw a flop.

Flop: {9-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

All three checked it. They saw a turn.

Turn: {5-Diamonds}

Now Kelopuro, barely glancing up from his magazine, bet out. Wang passed, but Harder wasn't falling for that sort of nonchalance -- he called.

River: {5-Spades}

Kelopuro checked now, and Harder bet 11,700. Kelopuro now raised an eyebrow and thought about it for a moment. Eventually he passed and returned to his magazine. He did not look terribly bothered.
