Guillaume Humbert is our new chip leader with 235,000 chips and we have just found out how he earned them. It seems that in one of the very last hands of the break, Humbert eliminated our Day One chip leader Flavien Guenan in a hand Guenan described as "disgusting play".
Humbert made a standard raise and Guenan three-bet from the small blind holding and Humbert called. The flop was and Guenan made a c-bet and Humbert called. The turn was the and the flop action was repeated. On the river we had the and Guenan moved all-in for 70,000 into a pot of 50,000 and Humbert tank-called with pocket kings.
Alessandro Speranza has been one of the more agressive players in the tournament, and he just gave quite a few chips to former WSOP $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Champion Freddy Deeb. Speranza raised from the button and after the small blind folded Deeb decided to three-bet to 11,200. Speranza gave it some thought and four-bet to 22,400 clicking it back to the experienced Deeb.
Deeb sat back in his chair and took a couple of sips from his coffee before counting out the 11,200 he needed to call. After two minutes Deeb threw in the chips and that's how we saw appear on the flop. Both players didn't seem interested in betting and checked it all the way down. The turn was the , and the river, the . Deeb showed and won the hand. Speranza looked frustrated and when he tried to muck his cards the flashed. Deeb is doing very well while Speranza keeps swinging.
Alessandro Speranza keeps playing pots and after losing a big one against Freddy Deeb earlier he now beat Tristan Wade out of an even bigger one.
We caught the action on the turn when there was on the board. Wade checked to Speranza who bet 10,500 and the American called.
The river brought the and Wade checked again. Speranza had a bit of trouble betting a large amount but ended up shoving 22,500 across the line with both hands. Wade thought about it for a while and called and mucked angrily when Speranza showed .
We join the action on the flop of and three players in the pot (Shawn Buchanan SB, Alexander Salabaschew UTG+1 and Martin Czuczor HJ). Buchanan checked and Salabaschew bet 5,500 before Czuczor raised to 16,300. Buchanan went into deep thought mode before making the call as did Salabaschew. The turn was the and Buchanan checked to Salabaschew who now bet 50,000. Czuczor pulled a funny face before folding and Buchanan went deep into the tank. After a period of about five minutes Buchanan moved all-in for a little over 50,000 and Salabaschew called.

The river bricked off, Buchanan was eliminated and Salabaschew took the chip lead.
Also eliminated just prior to Buchanan were Todd Terry (33rd), Edmilson Oliveira (32nd), Michael Friedrich (31st), Laurent Sanchez (30th) and Sylvain Mazza (28th).
Dinner may have given Wade new energy to play but it also took away the momentum he had earlier. After losing the big pot to Speranza he lost another very important hand. There was a 28,000 shove which Wade decided to call with , his opponent tabled . The board ran out knocking Wade all the way back to 11,000 chips.
Moments later he managed to double up with he got it in with against hitting a king on the board. Wade got all the way back up to 31,500 when Freddy Deeb decided to raise to 5,000 from the cut-off. Wade three-bet all-in from the small blind and his rival Alessandro Speranza called from the big blind. Deeb folded so we got to see a heads up showdown.
Tristan Wade
Alessandro Speranza
The board ran out leaving Wade with a €5,789 payout but no WSOPE bracelet. Speranza is doing very well once again with almost 150,000 chips.
Sam Chartier was struggling earlier in a big pot in which he tanked for ages before folding leaving himself with a mere 40,000. The Hungarian pro Marton Czuczor just took the last of Chartier's chips when he put him all-in from the small blind. Chartier called off his remaining 40,000 chips with and was up against deuces.
The board ran out with four spades but Chartier couldn't produce one of those. Czuczor is looking healthy with a 125,000 while Chartier is gone in 25th place.
Marvin Rettenmaier is seated in the small blind with a bet of 32,800 in front of him. His opponent in the hand is Casey Kastle who is in the big blind with 14,500 in front of him. The action is on Kastle and he is in the tank. After a few minutes thought Kastle moves all-in for 115,000 and Rettenmaier calls and has Kastle covered.
