Biography

Anton Wigg is an Austria-based Swedish professional poker player who has dominated the online and live poker scene for more than 15 years. You will likely bump into Wigg at most European Poker Tour (EPT), World Poker Tour (WPT), and World Series of Poker (WSOP) events around the world, in addition to clashing with the Swede in online poker's biggest tournaments.

Like many players of his generation, Wigg cut his teeth in the online poker world. Known as "antesvante" or derivatives of that alias, and "Bomber&Granater," Wigg has accumulated more than $7.3 million in online poker winnings, an impressive haul helped by being a two-time Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) champion.

Wigg's live breakthrough came in 2010 when he became the EPT Copenhagen Main Event champion. Wigg banked $672,818 that day, giving him both the bankroll and confidence to take on the biggest names in poker at the most prestigious events.

Wigg had to wait seven years for his next $100,000+ score. he won the $3,250 High Roller at the WSOPC Seminole Hard Rock for $111,719. A tenth-place finish in the $5,300 PartyPoker Caribbean Poker Party the following year came with $110,000 in prize money.

More recently, in November 2021, Wigg was the third-place finisher in the $25,500 WPT Rock 'N' Roll Poker Open for $314,925, and the runner-up in the $3,500 WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open for $650,180 in January 2022.
