Kitai Makes the Right Decision

A player in early position opened for 125 and received a call from the hijack. A short-stacked Davidi Kitai, who won a big tournament in Berlin back in April for €712,000, then three-bet to 275 from the big blind, which only the hijack called. The latter proceeded to call a bet of 100 from Kitai on the {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, and then bet 1,000 out of turn on the {8-Diamonds} turn.

The floor was called and said that action was on Kitai, but that if he checked the bet would stand. Kitai only had 850 remaining, and he seemed amused by the situation. He thought long and hard before tossing out a small bet of 50, but it didn't slow the hijack down as he still bet 1,000. The rest of the table laughed, as did Kitai, but the man from Brussels had a decision to make. He thought long and hard before folding {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} face up, and it proved to be a good fold as the hijack flashed the {J-Diamonds}.

Welcome Grinder

We just noticed Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi has joined the field, and not a moment too soon. We're not 100% sure it was his first hand, but it appeared to be when the under-the-gun player raised to 300, a middle-position player called, and Mizrachi moved all in from the small blind for 3,000. Only the original raiser made the call and Mizrachi liked what he saw.

Showdown
Mizrachi: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
UTG: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

"I like the suits too," Mizrachi chimed in before the board ran out an uneventful {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. With that, Mizrachi is already up to 6,000.

Speidel Takes a Hit

Oliver Speidel raised to 250 from middle position and received four callers, including the button and both blinds. The {5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop saw the latter two check, Speidel bet 600, the hijack call, and the button move all in for 1,375. The blinds got out of the way, Speidel made the call, and the hijack released.

Showdown
Speidel: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Button: {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The button had outflopped Speidel's pocket pair, and neither the {5-Spades} turn nor {A-Clubs} river allowed the Australian to recapture the lead. Despite that loss, Speidel is still up from the last time we checked in with him.
