Kurganov's Queens Crushed

German high roller Igor Kurganov was just eliminated when Patrick Sacrispeyre beat his pocket queens. Kurganov was standing on the rail when he explained to us what happened.

The winner of the EPT Monte Carlo €25,000 High Roller for just over a million raised under the gun and three players called. The flop came down {5-}{7-}{8-} with two clubs and one spade. The action was checked to Sacrispeyre who bet 2,600 and only Kurganov called.

On the turn a {10-} hit and Kurganov checked again. Scarispeyre bet 7,200 and Kurganov decided to move all in for right around 14,000. The Frenchman called with {10-}{8-}, and the river brought a {4-} to end Kurganov's tournament.

The €50,000 rebuy tournament that commences tomorrow will also feature quite some German players as Kurganov told us he, Philipp Gruissem, Marvin Rettenmaier, Tobias Reinkemeier and Fabian Quoss are likely to play.
