Kings for Sonmez

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Abdelhakim Zoufri raised and fellow Dutchman Albert Hoekendijk just called to see both players check down a jack-high board. Zoufri showed {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a flopped pair of nines and Hoekendijk mucked {A-Spades}{K-Spades}.

Erkan Sonmez won the last hand on his table after his raise was called by Willem de Jong and Stanislav Koleno in the blinds. The action checked to Sonmez, who bet 70,000. Koleno folded very reluctantly and was shown {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

The private duel between Rene Crha and Serghei Lisiy also continued and the starting contest ended seven minutes into the break. Crha opened to 40,000 on the button and Lisiy just called. On the {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop both players took time before checking and did so again on the {K-Hearts} turn. Lisiy bet the {6-Hearts} river for 52,000 and Crha's raise to 135,000 won the pot.

Hofmann Takes Two

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Przemyslaw Klejnowski raised to 50,000 and Albert Hoekendijk three-bet to 175,000 in the hijack. Abdelhakim Zoufri in the big blind gave it some thought and elected to fold, as did initial raiser Klejnowski.

Over on the other table, Thomas Hofmann raised to 55,000 from early position and picked up two callers in Lukas Soucek on the button and Waldemar Kopyl in the big blind. On a flop of {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Kopyl checked and Hofmann's bet of 90,000 won the pot uncontested. Hofmann raised to 55,000 the next hand and won the blinds and antes.

Verbakel Doubles Through Klejnowski

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Remco Verbakel shoved all in on the button for 412,000 with {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Przemyslaw Klejnowski called from the big blind with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

He flopped two kings, but Verbakel was optimistic about the river card. He called out, "six!"

The final board completed {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}, giving him the six he needed.

Oleh Haisiuk
Oleh Haisiuk

Rene Crha raised to 55,000 and was called by Oleh Haisiuk on the button. The duo checked the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop and the {5-Clubs} turn before the {J-Hearts} appeared on the river. Crha bet 80,000 and Haisiuk raised to 185,000 before Crha went deep into the think tank. After more than three minutes, he reraised to 430,000 and Haisiuk tossed in a single chip for the call.

Crha turned over {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} for top set while Haisiuk had {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the rivered straight.

The {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop was safe for Soucek, but he started getting up when the {4-Spades} came on the turn.

The {9-Hearts} on the river was of no help and Soucek had to settle for 17th place.

Abdelhakim Zoufri won several pots to push his stack up even further while Albert Hoekendijk four-bet shoved into Willem de Jong to force a fold.

Artan Dedusha got into pot with Hoekendijk soon after and called a bet of 125,000 by the Dutchman on the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{J-Hearts} turn before checking behind on the {9-Clubs} river. Hoekendijk showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and that won the pot.

Toebbe Pushes Twice

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Johannes Toebbe moved all in from under the gun and claimed the blinds and antes.

The next hand, Jonas Lauck raised from under the gun and Toebbe defended his big blind. The flop fell {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Toebbe checked, Lauck bet 50,000 and quickly folded to the check-shove of Toebbe.

On the other table, Abdelhakim Zoufri four-bet shoved into a three-bet of Erkan Sonmez and the latter eventually called with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. Zoufri had {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and they chopped it up. "Waste of time!" Artan Dedusha jokingly added.

Right after Sonmez min-raised to 48,000 and Dedusha shoved from the big blind. Sonmez folded {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Dedusha's {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} were revealed. "How can you fold?" he asked and Sonmez replied "It wasn't ace queen."
