Down to Two Tables on Day 1A

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

It only took seven minutes to reduce the field from 21 to 18 and another redraw will now take place for the last two tables. No longer in contention for that are Zudhija Nasic, Carmelo Vasta and Edgars Strupka. Nasic was first to fall and Vasta moved all in from the button for his last few big blinds, which Ricardo Chauriye called in the big blind.

Carmelo Vasta: {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Ricardo Chauriye: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board came {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Chauriye's hand held up to eliminate Vasta. Moments later, Edgars Strupka also bowed out.

A Double for Braeutigam

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Before the two table redraw, Anatolii Zyrin had been eliminated in 18th place while Samjia Nasic got through with a check-shove out of the blinds on a {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop.

The next short stack to get his chips in was Michael Braeutigam that ended up all in with the {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Corentin Schmauch looked him up out of the big blind with {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Braeutigam ended up with two pair on the board {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Neurauter Loses Flip; Busts

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Hannes Neurauter
Hannes Neurauter

Hannes Neurauter raised and called the shove of Meir Avigal in the blinds for 104,000 in total.

Meir Avigal: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Hannes Neurauter: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Neurauter had his opponent covered by just over three big blinds and was left with a mountain to climb after the {K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} board, the German exited the very next hand.

Avigal Doubles Once More

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Armin Miller
Armin Miller

On a flop of {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Artem Miller and Meir Avigal got their chips in and it was Avigal at risk holding {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for top two pair. Miller turned over pocket aces for the over pair, but failed to regain the lead with the {4-Spades} turn and {7-Spades} river run out.

"I was afraid you had pocket deuces for the set," Avigal said while stacking the chips. Miller's hope of making the Day 2 took a massive hit and he busted shortly after against Michael Braeutigam to reduce the Day 1A field to just 15 players.

Amedi Flushed Away on the River

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Netanel Amedi
Netanel Amedi

Samija Nasic limped in from middle position and Nicolaas Baars did so from the small blind. Netanel Amedi in the big blind shoved for 79,000 and Nasic asked for a count, then moved all in over the top for little more. That forced out Baars and the cards were turned over.

Netanel Amedi: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Samija Nasic: {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Amedi top pair, but Nasic had plenty of outs with the flush draw. Amedi was about to stand up from his chair but sat back down when picking up a flush draw himself on the {8-Diamonds} turn. However, it was Nasic that celebrated as she got there with the {K-Hearts} river to eliminate Amedi in the penultimate level of the night.

The Last Level of the Night

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action has slowed down in the final level of the night and Dariusz Glinski has taken over the lead with half a million in chips, several other players are not far behind. On the other end of the counts, Wiljan van Woerkum has nursed a short stack for quite some time and remains in the danger zone with fewer than 10 big blinds.

Julian Adamson just faced three limps and moved all in from the big blind for 102,000. Glinski asked for a count and folded, as did Michael Braeutigam and Marcin Jaworski. Adamson flashed the {A-Spades} and Stephan Kohlstetter joked "ace four is good."

A Double for van Woerkum

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Wiljan van Woerkum moved all in for 106,000 and Gerrit Muller looked him up out of the big blind.

Wiljan van Woerkum: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Gerrit Muller: {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop was a bad one for van Woerkum, as Muller had the superior flush draw. However, the magical {Q-Clubs} appeared on the turn to give the Dutchman the lead. A blank {5-Diamonds} followed on the river and Muller sighed "what a turn card, wow."

The Rich Get Richer

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Michael Braeutigam was all in and at risk before the flop with the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Dariusz Glinski called out of the big blind with {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

The {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop instantly left Braeutigam dead to outright win the pot and he needed running cards for a straight on the board to avoid elimination. It was all over on the {A-Clubs} turn to seal his fate and the meaningless {5-Clubs} on the river even gave Glinski a full house.

The Last Four Hands

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Michail Kavouras
Michail Kavouras

Corentin Schmauch won a flip with {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} against the pocket nines of Nicolaas Baars on a board of ]QhJd5d6dJs] and moved up to almost half a million in chips just before the final four hands of the night were drawn.

Right after that, Michail Kavouras doubled through Marino Ferrara with {A-Clubs}{7-Spades} versus {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. On the {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop, Kavouras was asking for a ten for the split pot and instead spiked the {7-Hearts} on the turn, the {5-Spades} river completed the board and the double up for the Greek.

It went on to get even better for Kavouras, who then doubled with pocket aces against Schmauch to climb up to half a million himself.
