Merzhvinskiy Doubles Through Sidiki

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Aleksandr Merzhvinskiy
Aleksandr Merzhvinskiy

The turn showed {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{A-Spades} and Aleksandr Merzhvinskiy checked in the cutoff. Matey Sidiki on the button bet 8,000 into a pot of 13,000 and Merzhvinskiy check-raised all in. Sidiki gave it some consideration and called.

Aleksandr Merzhvinskiy: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}
Matey Sidiki: {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

"Yesss, that's exactly the hand I put you on," Sidiki celebrated and jumped out of his seat. However, his expression turned ice cold when the {7-Spades} river gave Merzvhinskiy a flush. The Russian doubled for 26,900 and Sidiki was reduced to half the starting stack.

A Double for van 't Hoff

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Jasper van 't Hoff
Jasper van 't Hoff

At the start of the level, Jasper Van 't Hoff escaped from elimination when his {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} chopped with the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} of Philipp Zukernik.

Just now, the Dutchman had a flip for the last 9,100 with {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} against the {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} of Leandro Dirlewanger. The board of {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} gave Dirlewanger an additional straight draw along with his two over cards, but Van 't Hoff held up with his pocket pair to remain in contention for Day 1D.

Two Bullets Done for Deeb

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Shaun Deeb and Roland Israelashvili met next to the registration desk, but for Day 1D they don't have anything in common just yet. Deeb was talking with tournament staff after having busted for the second time while Israelashvili was waiting for a seat assignment for his first bullet on this flight. Not long ago, Israelashvili had cashed in Day 1C and will give it another try to make Day 2.

Segal Takes From Dumitrache

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Since being moved tables, Tamir Segal has increased his stack significantly and remains near the very top of the leader board in the mid stages of Day 1D. Just now, Segal defended his big blind against the button raise of Silviu Dumitrache and check-called a bet on the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop. On the {3-Clubs} turn, Segal checked and called a bet of 3,000.

The {A-Spades} on the river paired the board and Segal led for 12,000, which Dumitrache called. Segal turned over {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for the second nut flush and that won the pot.
