The second day of the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe festival filled Europe's biggest poker arena with card enthusiasts from near and far. Alongside a big field on Day 1b of the Event #1: €350 NLH Opener, the second tournament of the series kicked off as well. The first of two starting days of Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha attracted a field of 199 entries, consisting of 132 unique players and 67 re-entries.

Upon completion of 18 levels of 30 minutes each, only 19 players bagged chips for the night with Orhan Sen (494,000) holding a narrow lead over Luc Ramos (490,000). Close behind are also Anders Auset (463,000) and Karol Bogusz (462,000). Big stacks furthermore belong to Krzysztof Magott and Alfredo Vega Meister, who have both regularly participated in Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments at the King's Resort in Rozvadov.

Another 11 players cashed for at least €917 as the top 30 spots locked up a portion of the prize pool already.

Magott re-entered just before the end of the late registration and seemed nearly unstoppable on his way to the top of the leaderboard. However, he lost a bigger pot in the final hands of the night to concede the top spot. During the same period, Orhan Sen claimed several pots in quick succession to finish at the top of the chip counts on Day 1a.

Luc Ramos was involved in an all-in showdown on the Day 1a money bubble to end up with a big stack. Shortly after, Miha Pirsic was eliminated on the stone-cold bubble. Notables who cashed but came up short of making Day 2 were Hen Rosilio, Bjorn Verbakel, and Dario Alioto.

Alioto Eliminated; Vega Meister Gets a Stack for Day 2

Dario Alioto
Dario Alioto

Dario Alioto raised to 20,000 and Alfredo Vega Meister then reraised the pot to 69,000.

"Are you nuts?" Serok Kilic in the big blind sighed, then called. "I either get a stack for Day 2 or try again tomorrow," Vega Meister replied.

Alioto called all-in for 42,000 and the flop fell {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Kilic check-called the shove of Vega Meister for 89,000 to create the following three-way showdown.

Dario Alioto: {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Alfredo Vega Meister: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Serok Kilic: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{x-Spades}

The {4-Diamonds} turn and {a-Spades} river completed the board as Kilic jumped out of his seat in loud celebration. "Jesus Christ," the dealer exclaimed but Vega Meister quickly pointed out he had made a wheel to win the pot while Alioto was eliminated.

Jacobs Eliminated in Three-Way All-In

Level 17 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Bianca Jacobs
Bianca Jacobs

Bianca Jacob was all-in for the last 58,000 preflop and received two callers in Krzysztof Magott and Orhan Sen. The {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop brought the bet worth 15,000 by Sen and he then called all-in for the 20,000 he had behind when Magott raised.

Bianca Jacob: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Orhan Sen: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Krzysztof Magott: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

"Oh wow, I am behind," Magott said and another player immediately joked "that's a first," which brought a smile to Jacob's face. The {2-Hearts} turn propelled Magott into the lead but Sen improved to a flush thanks to the {k-Hearts} river.

"Finally," Jacobs said as she was eliminated in 25th place. The remaining 24 players will now redraw to three tables and there are just shy of 19 minutes left in level 17.

Miha Pirsic
Miha Pirsic

"I can't see the other stacks," Miha Pirsic sighed as he had just jammed for the last 9,000. Jaroslav Peter in the small blind and Serok Kilic in the big blind called. The {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop was checked and Peter check-folded the {7-Spades} turn when Kilic bet 15,000.

Miha Pirsic: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}
Serok Kilic: {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The {3-Diamonds} river was a blank and Pirsic came up second-best with aces once more to bust on the Day 1a money bubble.

Three ways to the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} turn, Luc Ramos checked in the small blind and so did Serok Kilic from an early position. Miha Pirsic then potted for 90,000 and Ramos jammed for 205,500. Kilic folded and Pirsic called it off with the slightly superior stack.

Luc Ramos: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Miha Pirsic: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The {k-Diamonds} river paired the board and Ramos doubled to leave Pirsic with crumbs.

Kogovsek Eliminated After Clash With Pirsic

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Tomaz Kogovsek
Tomaz Kogovsek

With some 55,000 in the middle and the turn showing {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, Tomaz Kogovsek checked and Miha Pirsic bet 30,000. Kogovsek then jammed and his countryman called it off with a near identical stack.

Tomaz Kogovsek: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Miha Pirsic: {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The {7-Spades} river improved Pirsic to a full house and he doubled for 99,000 while Kogovsek was left with 3,000 and forced all-in out of the big blind the next hand.

Jaroslav Peter then opened to 10,000 in the cutoff and Serok Kilic called on the button. Peter bet the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop for 10,000, checked the {k-Clubs} turn and bet the {8-Clubs} river for another 10,000. Kilic called and was shown the {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for quads by Peter. He mucked a {a-}{j-}{7-}{6-} while Kogovsek was eliminated with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Tsaknis Busts Two

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Vasileios Tsaknis
Vasileios Tsaknis

A three-way all-in showdown reduced the field by two players and ensured that the next table would break.

"Wow, that's thenuts," Shawn Stroke said in disbelief as his cards were already mucked with the board showing {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. Ernst Stoller saw his hopes vanish with the {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} as Vasileios Tsaknis rivered the nut straight with his {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Richard Toth
Richard Toth

The stack of Richard Toth went in before the flop and he was looked up by Vasileios Tsaknis, who was still somewhat steaming from the previously lost massive pot.

Richard Toth: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Vasileios Tsaknis: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

On a board of {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Toth failed to get there with his dominated pair as Tsaknis earned some chips back.

Bogusz Wins Massive Three-Way All-In

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Karol Bogusz
Karol Bogusz

On a flop of {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, the action checked to Vasileios Tsaknis and he bet 9,500. Karol Bogusz flat-called and Marek Golebiewski then jammed for 23,800. Tsaknis raised the pot, Bogusz jammed and Tsaknis called.

Marek Golebiewski: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Karol Bogusz: {a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Vasileios Tsaknis: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}

Tsaknis had the top set but many of his outs were blocked if Bogusz were to improve with his flush draw and open-ender. The {10-Clubs} turn gave Golebiewski an open-ender as well but it was Bogusz who nailed the {8-Diamonds} river. He doubled through Tsaknis for 141,700 and Tsaknis rumbled, then added "just write fuck off."

Daniele Mattioli
Daniele Mattioli

Jerome Vittoz raised the pot to 5,400 and was called by Daniele Mattioli and Ottavio Benelli out of the blinds. On the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, only Mattioli check-called a bet worth 5,000 by Vittoz and then led the {6-Hearts} turn for 5,000.

Vittoz raised the pot for the vast majority of his stack and then called all-in for around 50,000 when Mattioli pushed.

Jerome Vittoz: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}
