2019 Wynn Winter Classic
Luber the First to Fall
It took about an hour for the first elimination to occur. It happened over at Table 39 and occurred shortly after Ben Luber lost all but 3,500 of his chips running kings into aces.
At that point, Chad Layne raised to 300 and received a call from Walter Atwood next to act. When action reached Luber, he moved all in and both his opponents called.
On a flop, Layne bet 4,500 and Atwood called to see a {6xc} turn. Layne checked and then folded when Atwood bet 12,000.

Ben Luber:
Atwood had Luber pipped and the river bricked to bring about the first bust out of the 2019 Wynn Winter Classic Championship Event.

"They Didn't Follow Through"
Stan Jablonski opened with a raise of 400 from the hijack and picked up callers in both blinds.
"It's going to be a big one," Jablonski said to us before the flop came down .
Two checks saw Jablonski continue for 400 and both his opponents folded.
"They didn't follow through," Jablonski said with a smile as he pulled in the pot.

Jazayeri Flushed By Pantelic
We missed the elimination of WPT champ Sean Jazayeri but Garry Gates, who was at the table when it happened, was kind enough to fill us in on some details.
As he told it, there was some action on a flop before Jazayeri got the rest of his chips in on the turn, which was a third diamond, against Marko Pantelic.
Sean Jazayeri:
Marko Pantelic:
Jazayeri had an overpair with a king-high flush draw, which he needed to hit as Patenlic already had the diamond flush with the .
The on the river gave Jazayeri a set but it wasn't good enough and he headed for the exit.

Gates Takes It on the Turn
After a player raised to 600 from early position, 2019 WSOP Main Event fourth-place finisher Garry Gates three-bet to 1,800 two spots over in the hijack. Marko Pantelic came along from the small blind, the initial raiser did the same, and the trio took a flop of .
The early-position player checked, Gates continued for 2,100, and Pantelic folded. The original raiser called and then checked for the second time on the turn.
Gates, who recently won a gold ring down at the WSOP Circuit International Aruba stop, upped his bet to 4,200 and this time it did the trick as his opponent wasted little time in folding.
