Laura Fryer

Laura Fryer is a freelance poker journalist who has been covering major live events around the world for three years. Her love of card games stemmed from childhood as she often spent afternoons playing with her grandad, a passion that continued through her university years in poker society.

She began her reporting career with PokerNews at the 2024 World Series of Poker and has since covered stops across Europe, Asia, and Australasia. Before moving into poker media, Laura studied for her postdoctoral degree in astrophysics, mainly researching the Aurora.
