Kevin Calenzo Eliminated in 21st Place ($10,389)

Kevin Calenzo - 21st Place
Kevin Calenzo - 21st Place

Kevin Calenzo's run for back-to-back-to-back final tables in WSOP Circuit Main Events has come to an end in 21st place. Calenzo shoved all in for 316,000 from middle position and the terminator Kurt Jewell reraised all in from the button. Everyone folded and it was Calenzo on the line with the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} flipping against the two black nines for Jewell.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Calenzo added a straight draw along with his two overcards. The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} and now a ten would also do it and counterfeit Jewell's hand. The river couldn't find any of the outs Calenzo needed when the {2-Spades} fell and he was finished. Jewell stacked up the chips and moved to 3.4 million, still leading the way.

With this finish, Calenzo earned 10 points for the National Championship leader board and has leaped past Shiva Dudani to take the lead. Two final tables and a 21st-place finish worth over $10,000 is quite an amazing run Calenzo has had in these Circuit Main Events and we'll see if he can keep it going in a couple days when the Regional Championship kicks off.
