Chen Up

Level 18

Stud

Yan Chen: (X)(X) / {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts} / (X)
Phil Hellmuth: (X)(X) / {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} -- FOLDED
Matt Glantz: (X)(X) / {K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades} / (X)

We picked up the action on fourth where it checked to Chen who bet, and both Glantz and Hellmuth called. It checked to Chen again on fifth, and this time only Glantz stuck around. Glantz called Chen's bets on sixth and seventh as well.

Chen showed {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a nine-high straight and Glantz mucked. Chen moves to 1.38 million, Glantz slips to 880,000, and Hellmuth is now down to 370,000.

Amid Hellmuth's grumbling afterwards, Ben Lamb challenged him to play the same eight-game mix heads-up.

"I'll play you, I'll play you," said Hellmuth, though didn't pursue specifics. "Well, I'm not going to let you keep talking sh*t," said Lamb, pursuing the point. "You're real good, kid, real good," Hellmuth added derisively.

Yan Chen then piped up, saying he'd bet on Hellmuth in such a match. "Well, he won't bet on himself," said Lamb.

Meanwhile, Hellmuth is facing another, more immediate challenge, as the bubble is approaching fast.
