Bubble Boy Bond

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Justin Bond was sitting in middle position and raised preflop. Sebastian Saffari three-bet from the small blind and Bond pushed all in. Saffari made a quick call and Bond was at risk to become the bubble boy.

Before the pocket cards were flipped over and a board ran out, the players waited for an excruciating five minutes while other tables finished up the hand-for-hand play. The two other all-in tables resulted in double ups, leaving just Bond and Saffari to face off.

Bond: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Saffari: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Bond was in need of some help with his two black jacks against the two red queens of Saffari. The flop was spread out {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, giving him the chance to catch up with a straight if he could find a seven or a queen.

The turn was the {2-Clubs}, and Saffari held on to his lead. The river was the {5-Clubs} and Bond's fate was sealed. He exited this event as the bubble boy, and the remaining 198 players are now in the money.
