Antonius Arrives, Antonius Departs

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Patrik Antonius just recently joined us on Day 1a of the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final Main Event, and after a very unlucky hand, he has been eliminated.

According to one of our Finnish colleagues, Antonius raised, a player called, and a third player re-raised. Both Antonius and the caller came along for the ride.

The flop fell {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, the action checked to the three-bettor who tossed out a continuation bet, and only Antonius called.

The turn was the {2-Clubs}, Antonius checked, and the three-bettor fired out another bullet. Antonius check-raised all in, the player called, and the cards were turned on their backs.

Antonius: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Antonius was a 95.45% favorite to double up, but the {a-Hearts} spiked on the river to give his opponent a better two pair.

Antonius was still floating around after he was eliminated, but we probably won't see him on the felt again until the start of the €25,000 High Roller.
