Online Poker Weekend: 'jnic00', 'dusnguyen' Highlight Sunday Action 0001

Heavy turnouts marked many of the major online events on the final Sunday in January, led by guarantee-smashing crowds at the PokerStars Sunday Million and Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee. Top honors in the Sunday Million went to 'jnic00', while 'dusnguyen' captured the $750,000 Guarantee. The final tables played out in this manner:

PokerStars Sunday Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million drew of gathering of 8,500 entrants to create a total prize pool of $1,700,000. Among the best finishers short of the final table were Joe "ender555" Ebanks in 20th place ($3,400), Scott "SCTrojans" Freeman in 40th ($2,890), Bryan "Squirrely1" Sapp in 45th ($2,890) and James "jcamby33" Campbell in 69th ($2,550). The chip counts to start the final table were as follows:

Rebel1100 busted first from the final table at the 150,000/300,000/30,000 level. From the small blind, rebel1100 min-raised to 600,000 and PaperLamp re-raised to 1,500,000 from the big bind. Without hesitation, rebel1100 went all in for 3,517,560 with AQ and PaperLamp opted to call holding KJ. The board came 2779J as the river jack sent rebel1100 home in ninth place for $11,900. Flamarion was the next victim at this level after making an opening raise to 720,000 from middle position. A call from marmotte21 in the big blind brought out a 7102 flop. Marmotte21 led out 1,200,000 and Flamarion raised all in for 3,762,648 with QQ. Marmotte21 called with 76 and caught a fortunate river 7 for trips. Flamarion finished in eighth place for $19,550. Yann "LastChance11" Brosolo made his exit late in the level when he ran KQ into Juanjo "calytry" Ayza's AQ. The board brought no king for Brosolo as he finished in seventh place for $29,750.

PaperLamp was felted at 200,000/400,000/40,000. From the cutoff, jnic00 made it 850,750 to go and PaperLamp called from the big blind. After the turn, with the board showing 5Q84, PaperLamp three-bet all in with Q7 and jnic000 called with 54. A lot of cards could save PaperLamp's tournament life, but the river 5 instead filled jnic00 up. PaperLamp earned $42,500 for the sixth-place showing. Juanjo "calytry" Ayza hit the rail at 250,000/500,000/50,000. Under the gun jnic00 raised to 1,111,111 and Ayza shoved from the button, holding A9, for 5,278,379. A quick call by jnic00 revealed JJ and when the board rolled out JK2610, Juanjo "calytry" Ayza was out in fifth place for $59,500. Kris Merlot was sent packing later that level. Matmotte21 raised to 1,500,000 from the cutoff and Kris Merlot went all in for 9,166,860 from the big blind with 1010. Marmotte21 held KK and called, winning the pot as the board ran out 85QJ2. Kris Merlot received $76,500 for fourth.

A deal between the remaining three players guaranteed each the following amount, with the eventual winner to receive an additional $30,000:

Heads-up play began with jnic00 holding a slight chip lead, and he soon won the event. Down to 13,362,320, i_lv_beer shoved with K3 and jnic00 called with Ad6c. The board ran out 87210Q and i_lv_beer came up short in the heads-up battle, finishing as runner-up for $127,284.55. Jnic00 collected $178,788.86 for winning the PokerStars Sunday Million.

Bluedog428 was eliminated first at 14,000/28,000/3,500. TigBitties2 opened to 56,000 from the button and Bluedog428 went all in for 430,764 from the big blind with A10. TigBitties2 called with AQ and won the hand when the board rolled out Q698A. Bluedog428 took home $10,360.88 for the ninth-place showing. Out next was cashqueen88 at 17,000/34,000/4,000. From middle position cashqueen88 went all in for for 397,674 with 87, but ran into Chris "hattrick8810" Odle's KK on the button. The board came Q7435 and cashqueen88 departed in eighth for $13,917.60.

TigBitties2 was sent to the rail by Jordan Morgan at 20,000/40,000/5,000. From the button TigBitties2 raised to 120,000, and Morgan made it 600,000 total from the small blind. TigBitties2 went all in for another 81,298 more with AK and Morgan called with J4. Morgan liked the flop, though, as it came 4Q4. The K came on the turn to provide some hope for TigBitties2, but the river was the Q and TigBitties2 was out in seventh place for $17,783.60. Later in the level, nickdawgg hit the rail after getting it in with AK against dusnguyen's 22. The board ran out QJ2Q6 and nickdawgg was felted in sixth place for $23,737.24.

Chris "hattrick8810" Odle exited the final table next. Down to 105,644, Odle's last chips were on the line with Q10 against Jordan Morgan's K7. The board came 102KA7 and Odle was eliminated in fifth place for $31,010.48. Finishing in fourth place was farid1221x. In a limped pot between the blinds, Jordan Morgan and farid1221x saw a 10J3 flop. A series of bets and raises between the two put farid1221x's tournament life on the line with KK, but Morgan held AA. The turn and river came 2 and 4, no help to farid1221x, who took home $42,680.64. Jordan Morgan, though, climbed no higher. He was eliminated at 30,000/60,000/7,500 after colliding with dusnguyen, who raised from the button to 165,000. Morgan called from the big blind and the flop came 310J. Morgan led out 145,000 and dusnguyen called, leading to the 9 turn. This time Morgan check-raised all in for 2,548,247 with A8 and dusnguyen called with the nut straight, KQ. Morgan needed a heart on the river, but the 10 fell instead. Jordan Morgan finished in third place for $54,123.

The heads-up battle was brief. With the board reading 9JK44, dusnguyen got it in with 63 for a flush that beat Wilinofsky's K2. For the runner-up showing, Ben "NeverScaredB" Wilinofsky took home $82,732.40, while dusnguyen collected $136,895.06 for winning the Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee.
