WCOOP Day 15: "RaiseOnce" Takes Down $25,000 High-Roller Heads-Up Event

WCOOP Day 15: "RaiseOnce" Takes Down $25,000 High-Roller Heads-Up Event 0001

Two weeks of the 2010 World Championship of Online Poker at PokerStars are in the books and Sunday's docket included the $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High-Roller Heads-Up event. Past winners of the event include PokerStars Team Online member Steven "stevesbets" Jacobs and Jonathan “Iftarii” Jaffe, who was back to defend his 2009 title. In the second round of matches, however, Jaffe fell to eventual finalist SkaiWalkurrr. Meeting SkaiWalkurrr heads-up for the $348,750 first-place prize was RaiseOnce. Their respective paths to the finals were the following:

SkaiWalkurrr defeats BrynKenney, Jonathan "Iftarii" Jaffe, Ariel "Vick Is God" Schneller, IMALLIN723
RaiseOnce defeats Brian "$tinger 88" Hastings, JasonMercier, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Liviu "0Human0" Ignat.

RaiseOnce was unstoppable in most of his matches, building huge leads and applying relentless pressure on his opponents. SkaiWalkurrr battled back valiantly in the finals, however, and seemed primed to double up for a big chip lead himself after six-betting all-in with {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}, finding a call from RaiseOnce with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. But the board came down {Q-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts}, giving RaiseOnce the set of queens to notch the victory.

Also claiming WCOOP titles on Day 15 were Fabrizio "SixthSenSe19" Gonzalez and Money_1985, each earning six figures.
