The Sunday Briefing: "Gorby3975" Wins Sunday Million One Week After Sunday Storm Victory

One week after winning the Sunday Storm for $29,437.69, "Gorby3975" was back at it, taking down the Sunday Million for $208,783.17. Sunday's biggest pay day belonged to Tobias "crackin_ty" Huber, who on the Red Spade Open for just shy of $250,000. Also earning a Sunday victory was Marcel "p3rc4" Bjerkmann.

PokerStars Sunday Million ($1M Guaranteed)

"Gorby3975" began the final table of the Sunday Million second in chips, but eliminated two opponents by the time five players were remaining, to grab hold of more than 60 percent of the chips in play. "Gorby3975" and "puicachamp" struck a heads-up deal, and though "puicachamp" fought back to capture the lead, he ultimately fell short of the title.

"Gorby3975" took back the lead and with a little luck, closed the deal. "Gorby3975" was holding K♥J♠ when the chips got into the middle. He was behind against "puicachamp's" A♦J♦, but a king hit the flop to lock up the victory for "Gorby3975," capping off a memorable week for the Russian, who last Sunday claimed victory in the PokerStars Sunday Storm.

PokerStars Red Spade Open ($1M Guaranteed)

PokerStars ran its second Red Spade Open over the weekend. The $55 buy-in event boasted a $1 million guarantee and all PokerStars Team Pros who took part in the event had $100 bounties on their heads. Unlike the previous Red Spade Open, no deal was made and Austrian Tobias "crackin_ty" Huber notched the outright victory for nearly $247,378.

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up ($500K Guaranteed)

The PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up smashed its $500,000 guarantee this week, with 3,668 entrants creating a $733,600 prize pool. "TheJunobv" and "Zackattak13" began the final table on top of the counts. When action was three-handed at the final table, "TheJunobv," "Zackattack13," and "ZERGA_77" struck a deal a deal, and "Zackattack13" pocketed the biggest prize — $95,000.

"TheJunobv" eliminated "ZERGA_77" in third place, and eventually got the better of "Zackattak13" as well. With the final board reading A♠2♥2♣K♣K♠, "Zackattak13" called all-in holding A♥8♦, but was bested by "TheJunobv's" J♠2♠.

The PokerStars Sunday 500 attracted 857 entrants, creating a prize pool of $428,500. João "joao bauer" Divino (15th), Bryn "BrynKenney" Kenney (26th), and Fabrizio "SixthSenSe19" Gonzalez (27th) were among the notable finishers. At the final table, a heads-up deal was made between "gangst3rn1" and "uwintakeit." "Gangst3rn1" emerged victorious, and banked $70,294.

The Bigger $162's 1,773-player field more than doubled the $100,000 guarantee this week. A four-handed deal took place at the final table and "Tomatee" ended up at the top, taking home $35,028.

The Sunday 2nd Chance's prize pool grew to $285,800 this week, and "vovtroy" bested the 1,429-player field to pocket $48,586.

PokerStars $109 Sunday Rebuy ($225K Guaranteed)

The Sunday $109 Rebuy attracted 1,125 entrants, creating a prize pool of $379,400. A three-way deal was made at the final table between Marcel "p3rc4" Bjerkmann, Patrick "pmahoney22" Mahoney, and "muka_gaming." Bjerkmann emerged victorious and took home $65,000.

The Sunday Kickoff attracted 1,697 entrants on Sunday, creating a prize pool of $169,700. Chris "Moorman1" Moorman (33rd) and Marc "dean23price" Wright (3rd) were among the notable finishers. "JePoll" emerged victorious and added $27,389 to his bankroll.
