2012 World Poker Tour Vienna Day 3: Siemsen Leads; Wade Lurks with 21 Remaining
The 2012 World Poker Tour Vienna continued on Friday with Day 3 action from the luxurious Montesino. At the start of the day, 67 players were in contention, each looking to make the top 45 and secure a payday. After about four levels of play, only 21 remained, with Goswin Siemsen in the lead.
The day began with a glut of pre-money eliminations including Thomas Butzhammer, Dennis Schaefer and David Breitfuss. Another man to fall short of the money was Chris Moorman. According to the WPT Live Reporting Team, Moorman began the day second in chips with 411,500 but lost a lot of that after Michael Eiler opened for 9,000, Moorman three-bet to 18,000 on the button, and Eiler moved all in for 158,800. Moorman called and the two turned over their cards.

Moorman was out in front and stayed there after the 10♠5♣3♣ flop; however, the A♣ spiked on the turn to give Eiler the lead. The 10♦ river changed nothing, and Moorman was knocked down to 200,000. Not long after, Moorman ran into Marko Neumann’s set of fours on a 10x4x2x5x board and was eliminated two spots shy of the money.
On the money bubble, Ben Wilinofsky was first to act and opened for 10,000, which cleared the table all the way around to Ben Vinson in the big blind. He put in a three-bet, Wilinofsky moved all in, and Vinson called off.

Wilinofsky had his hand caught in the cookie jar, but found redemption on the Q♣10♣7♠ flop. Vinson remained stoic as the 4♦ appeared on the turn followed by the 3♦ of the river and he became the bubble boy.
From there, the usual rush of eliminations occurred which included Alexander Debus, Ashot Kagramanov, Bodo Sbrzesny, Julian Herold, Stefan Erhardt, Gerald Karlic, Jozef Bartalos, Michal Medved and Josef Kollaritis, who finished in 45th-37th respectively for $8,855 each.
In Level 18, Casey Kastle was eliminated. He fell after Morten Christensen raised to 12,000 and Wilinofsky called from the cutoff. Kastle then moved all in for 80,000 with KxQx and was called by Wilinofsky, who was holding 10x10x. The board ran out uneventfully — 9x7x6x6x4x — and Kastle was eliminated in 32nd place for $10,466.
Joining Kastle on the rail a short time later was were WPT Champions Club members Andy Frankenberger and Yevgeniy Timoshenko. The former was eliminated in 30th place for $10,446, and the latter moved all in from the button holding 6x6x and was called by Goswin Siemsen, who held Ax10x. It was a flip, but one that wouldn’t land in Timoshenko’s favor as he lost the hand and was eliminated in 22nd place, for $12,078, putting an end to the action and making Siemsen the Day 3 chip leader.
Other in-the-money eliminations throughout the day included Kimmo Kurko (36th - $10,466), Benjamin Lehrer (35th - $10,466), Ferenc Gal (34th - $10,466), Walter Pflueger (33rd - $10,466), Marco Ritter (31st - $10,466), Darko Stojanovic (29th - $10,466), Jeppe Nielsen (27th - $12,078), Marius Pospiech (26th - $12,078), Ronald Szczerba (25th - $12,078), Christopher Sly (24th - $12,078) and Yohann Aube (23rd - $12,078).
