Despite a small returning field, several notable professionals were among the returnees on Day 5. As play wore on, however, many met dropped out. The first well-known player to see his exit was 2012 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final champion Mohsin Charania. With the blinds at 12,000/24,000/3,000, Charania moved all in from under the gun for his last 115,000. Michael Lipman flat-called, only to have Wong three-bet to 300,000. Lipman called the three-bet and the flop brought 1073. Wong fired 200,000 on the flop, and Lipman raised all in for about 900,000. Wong called and the hands were tabled.

Lipman: QJ
Wong: A10
Charania: 2x2x

The board completed with the 6 on the turn and the 8 on the river, securing Wong's hand as the best. Charania was sent home in 20th place with a payday of $56,000 while Lipman was crippled and busted a few spots later.

Also to fall before the end of the day was 2009 WPT Borgata Poker Open champion and noted poker commentator Olivier Busquet. Busquet's end came at the hands of Ryan Fair, who was able to score a double knockout in the hand, also eliminating Anthony Borde.

Eddy Sabat exited from the tournament on Day 5. This year marked his third top-40 PCA Main Event finish in a row (coming in 30th in 2011 and 40th in 2012), but his tournament ended when he lost a race with the JJ against the the AK of Darren Elias.

As the eliminations began to grow, the final nine players combined to an unofficial final table, which lasted almost two full levels. Fair, who began nine-handed play as the chip leader, lost several key pots against Joel Micka and end-of-day chip leader Wong. His rough path through the final table finally ended when he three-bet all in against Micka for his last 920,000. Micka called, and the hands were turned over.

Micka: A10
Fair: A6

Micka was ahead and stayed that way when he paired his ten on a flop that read 710K. A dejected Fair hung his head as he continued to brick out on the subsequent streets. He was forced to settle for the title of "final table bubble boy" and the $120,000 that accompanied it.

Play will continue on Sunday at 1 PM EST when the final eight players will take to the felt for one last day of action. As always, our PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to provide you with all of the big pots, bad beats, and bust outs.
