FTOPS XXII Day 15: "feel fine" Wins Main Event; Kevin Eyster Takes Down High Roller

Kevin Eyster

The 22nd installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series ended on Sunday. FTOPS XXII featured 38 events and awarded more than $15 million in prize money, with many of the game's top talents shining brightly throughout the two-week poker festival.

The flagship event of the series was Sunday's $640 buy-in re-entry Main Event, which attracted 3,653 entrants to generate a prize pool of $2,191,800. The eventual winner was "feel fine" who outlasted a relatively unknown group at the final table to take down the $392,332 top prize. The Russian defeated Javier "anguila" Etayo heads-up for the title and his first FTOPS jersey. The $271,783 score was the biggest of Etayo's career.

Also coming to a close on Sunday was the two-day $2,100 buy-in Event #34. Eighty-six of the original 776 players returned on Sunday to play for the $333,680 top prize, and Kevin "-1SickDisease-" Eyster went on to win his third FTOPS jersey in the past two series. Eyster began the day second in chips and continued to build throughout the day, eventually defeating high-stakes cash-game superstar Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro heads-up for the title. It capped off an incredible week for Eyster; he also finished second place in the 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit Event Main Event at The Lodge Casino on March 26 for $85,852

The third event on the Sunday FTOPS slate was Event #37, a $256 buy-in no-limit hold'em knockout tournament with re-entries. "KaKeTKa," another Russian, completed a very profitable series by winning the event $126,675. He finished fifth on the FTOPS XXII Leaderboard after making several final tables during the two-week series. Mike "CuteIsWhatIAim4" Telker and Tom "7tHEcROw7" MacDonald also made the final table of Event #37 to lock up five-figure paydays.
