The Playground Poker Montreal Festival Kicks Off!
The Playground Poker Montreal Festival is underway today as play has begun in Event 1, a $150 No-Limit Hold’em Reentry tournament with four starting flights and a $100,000 guarantee. Players familiar with Playground Poker Club know not to miss the first tourney in any festival, which routinely flies right past the guarantee and has been known to offer a top prize of over $30,000 — which is pretty great for a $150 investment.
Players have gathered from all over North America to join in the action, and online registrations and new player signups are more active than ever. The increase in activity is already reflected on the Playground Poker Club cash tables, which by the way are now boasting a bad beat jackpot worth over $300,000.
Of course, all eyes are on the $1,100 Main Event, with its $1,000,000 guarantee. The number of players who have won their seat in online or live satellites has flown past the 200 mark, with more to come as players jump into sit-n-gos and with several multi-table satellites still to be held — on Sunday night there are five seats guaranteed ($110 reentry), and then on Thursday there are three tournaments with a total of 24 seats guaranteed.
