Daniel Negreanu Wins $50,000 During His First Real-Money Twitch Live Stream 0001

On April 20, Daniel Negreanu launched his online real-money poker streaming career on the Amazon's Twitch.tv in style.

During a three-hour session, Negreanu managed to win $50,000 in ring games, playing $400/$800 8-game on PokerStars while interacting with thousands of viewers.

Negreanu's first appearance on Twitch was last week when he streamed play-money games on PokerStars. This broadcast attracted a mind-blowing 150,000 unique viewers and netted him 4,000 subscribers.

The Team PokerStars Pro member thanked new Friend of PokerStars Jamie Staples for his help in getting him up and running, and new Team PokerStars Pro Jason Somerville for making Twitch cool.

Negreanu now has amassed nearly 229,000 unique viewers and close to 14,000 followers on his channel. While it appears Negreanu's initial intentions were to just have some fun trying out streaming his action and interacting with his viewers, he has the potential to become the most popular poker streamer on Twitch.

"Kid Poker" has some catching up to do, with Somerville leading the way with his popular Run it Up! broadcasts that have his channel just shy of 5.9 million unique views and almost 91,000 followers. In the immediate term, he can potentially pass Staples, who has over 1.5 million unique views and more than 23,000 followers.

While it is unlikely Negreanu will stream on a daily basis like Somerville and Staples currently do, he did appear to genuinely enjoy the experience, and seemed excited that it netted him $50,000.

Negreanu announced on Twitch after his first real-money session:
