Justin Bonomo, Tony G Crush High-Stakes Poker Action at Aria

Tony G at Aria

The high stakes poker community has arrived in Vegas in preparation for this weekend's Super High Roller Bowl and the start of the World Series of Poker, and they took no time to hit the tables, taking advantage of a series of big tournaments at the Aria. Justin Bonomo has been the biggest winner so far, taking down the $10,000 buy-in tournament on Tuesday, and then chopping the $50,000 re-entry tournament which started on Thursday and drew 56 entries.

The action kicked off on Tuesday at Aria, with a $10,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em event that attracted 30 runners. The tournament paid out five players, with Bonomo besting the field and collecting the $138,000 first prize. Bonomo beat Adrian Mateos heads-up for the win.

It was none other than our own Tony G, who has been absent from the high stakes tournament community for the last few years while serving as a member of European Parliament, taking down the top prize. Tony G beat Martin Kabrhel heads-up to win $353,280.
