Road to Bahamas: Six Ways to Qualify for the 2018 PCA

PCA

When PokerStars announced the return of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for 2018, it came with the promise of getting back to the roots of what made PCA such a special and widely traveled-to event.

One aspect that always defined the PCA was the high number of satellite qualifiers, and PokerStars said from the outset they'd get back to qualifying players in droves. Turning some pocket money into millions of dollars in a lovely Caribbean setting has been the quintessential PCA dream ever since PokerStars began sending hundreds of satellite winners to Atlantis Paradise Island Resort.

A PokerStars official threw out a lofty goal of 400 qualifiers, and in order to help reach that number, PokerStars outlined its Road to Bahamas plan, which provides six different options for players to win their way to sunny Paradise Island from Jan. 6-14.

Each PCA package includes a $10,300 seat in the Main Event, hotel accommodation worth over $3,000 at Atlantis, $1,000 in PokerStars account cash and $1,000 in room credits to spend at Atlantis.

Six Paths to The Bahamas

Multi-Table Tournament Satellites

Good old-fashioned MTT satellites will be running on PokerStars at a $55 price point. For those with deeper pockets or who win tickets, there will be two $530 Ultra Satellites that will see 100 lucky players win PCA packages. Those are set to take place Oct. 15 and Nov. 5. Tickets to Ultra Satellites can be won in a variety of ways including...

Stars Rewards

With World Championship of Online Poker about to wrap up, PokerStars will be switching the focus of its Stars Rewards chests from WCOOP to the PCA. More than $1 million worth of PCA satellite tickets can be found in Stars Rewards chests through Nov. 5.

Spin & Go Qualifiers

Road to Bahamas Spin & Gos will run Sept. 25-Nov. 5. For a $27.50 entry, players have the chance to win PCA satellite tickets and can even get lucky and win a full package. Here's the Spin & Go breakdown:

  • 250 in 1,000,000 — $15,855 PCA Package
  • 18,510 in 1,000,000 — $530 Ultra Satellite ticket
  • 181,625 in 1,000,000 — $109 satellite ticket
  • 799,615 in 1,000,000 — $55 satellite ticket

Sit-n-Go Super-Satellites

Starting today, PokerStars will run $55 sit-n-go satellites accommodating 18 players. Two Ultra Satellite seats will be up for grabs in each sit-n-go.

Daily Cash Game Challenges

Cash game players can get in on the qualifying by playing through daily challenges. Complete the challenges to earn tickets to a daily All-In Shootout. Make it through that, and players earn seats in a Cash Game Weekly Final on Sunday to fight for $50,000 in prizes that includes a full PCA package.

Spin & Go Weekly Challenges

In a similar vein, spin & go players can complete challenges of their own to qualify for Road to Bahamas Spin & Go Weekly Finals. Again, they'll battle for $50,000 in prizes, including a full PCA package.
