PokerStars PA Offers State-Record Guarantee in May 17 Tournament

PokerStars PA is giving players a shot to win huge prize money.

Online poker players in Pennsylvania will be treated to a state-record guaranteed tournament this Sunday.

PokerStars PA has posted a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool for "Pennsyl-MANIA," a no-limit hold'em reentry event taking place this Sunday, May 17.

That guarantee surpasses the one offered in the recently completed Pennsylvania Spring Championship of Online Poker $300 Main Event by 25%. That $200K guarantee awarded $57,395 for first place.

About Pennsyl-MANIA

Pennsyl-MANIA begins May 17 at 5 p.m. local time in Pennsylvania. It will be a $200 buy-in allowing five reentries for the first five hours of play.

The tournament will last two days, with Day 1 completed after 20 levels. Day 2 begins Monday at 7 p.m. Levels will last 20 minutes apiece.

Players can satellite in for as low as $10.

How Big Could Pennsyl-MANIA Get?

If the recently completed PASCOOP is any guarantee, very big, and well beyond the $250,000 number.

While PASCOOP offered a $200K guarantee, the actual turnout of 1,315 entries produced a prize pool nearly doubling that number to $368,200.

While Pennsyl-MANIA doesn't have a ton of time to satellite heaps of players in due to being announced less than a week ago, it does have favorable current market conditions going for it. March, the latest month for which data is available, saw PokerStars PA rake in $3,133,019 in revenue, according to Poker Industry PRO ($). That far surpassed the average total of $2,106,563 from the previous four months, and April numbers will surely be even larger with the PASCOOP boost.
