The World Poker Tour has been on the move again once again, journeying from France to Taiwan for another leg of its popular Prime series. It's the second time the tour visited Taiwan, and with a bigger and better venue change, the players came out in their droves.
The 1,359-entry field set a new attendance record for a Prime Main Event, besting the 1,224 entries, which was set at the Gold Coast, Australia, in February 2023.
Emerging victorious this time around was South Korea's Seonguk Huh after he defeated France's Yannick Leonard in heads-up play. Huh captured his first live major title, and his $197,741 payout was the best score of his career so far.
From the record-setting Main Event, a $1,237,387 prize pool was generated and shared among the top 173 finishers.

Huh Sun-Runs to the WPT Prime Taiwan Title
The day began with nine players returning for the final table, which saw Dongkyu Kim and Jacky Wang come into the final session as the clear chip leaders. However, it would be the eventual champion who secured the first elimination. Huh and Guillerm Segarra got in their stacks on the T-9-4 flop, with Huh holding a set of nines while his opponent had pocket queens for an overpair. Huh's hand remained best following the turn and river.
Huh then flopped another set of nines shortly after in an all-in flip against Feng Wen Chen to bring the tournament to its final seven players. Shortly after, Wang went runner-runner to make quads and see off Tao Wei Chang.
Huh then took the chip lead at around the halfway point after he flopped a flush while Wang had a set of jacks in a battle of the big stacks. Huh further distanced himself from the rest of the pack after his ace-queen sent the aforementioned Kim to the rail, who held ace-eight.
Two hands later, there was a three-way all-in involving Huh, Wang and Tung Wing Wong. Wong missed the board with his ten-nine to bow out in fifth place, while Wang's king-queen got there against Huh's sevens to stay in contention.
Wang's pursuit of the title then ended just minutes later after another trifecta of preflop jams. Wang had jacks, while Huh had ace-king. Runner-up Leonard also held big slick as the three premium hands were tabled. Despite Huh and Leonard holding some of each other's outs, an ace came on the flop, and Wang was unable to find a jack.
All of the action above took place in the first 65 hands of the day, but another 60 would play out until the next final table casualty. Huh's sun-run continued as his ace-eight turned a pair against the ace-king held by Seung Hun Ko to set up heads-up play.
A brief exchange between the final duo saw stacks get committed with king-jack and ace-king. Huh had the best hand and a drama-free runout saw him secure the victory.
