Michael Addamo and Niklas Astedt Return to the Winner's Circle

An uncharacteristic period of time has passed since either Michael "imluckbox" Addamo or Niklas "Lena900" Astedt have featured in PokerNews headlines, but like London buses, both have arrived on our front page today at the same time. Addamo helped himself to the $87,002 top prize of the $5,200 Titans Event while Astedt banked $40,136 in a $2,100 Pot-Limit Omaha PKO event that was part of the PokerStars Carnival Series.
The latest edition of the Titans Event at PokerStars saw 56 entrants create a $280,000 prize pool. Only the top seven finishers received a slice of that sum due to the field's compact size. This fact meant Bruno "great dant" Volkmann and "ibotown" both reached the final table yet still walked away empty-handed.
Mikita "fish2013" Badziakouski was the first finalist to see a return on their investment. Badziakouski banked $12,185, although he did fire two $5,200 bullets, so he wasn't as profitable as you think at first glance.
Spain's four-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos fell in sixth for $16,908 before Jans "Graftekkel" Arends bowed out in fifth for $23,463.
Fourth place and $32,559 went to Niklas "Lena900" Astedt; the Swede would later make up for his near miss by taking down a Carnival Series event. Germany's "Sintoras" saw their tournament in a third-place finish worth $45,182.
Heads-up pitted Addamo against Bert "girafganer" Stevens in what was a near-$25,000 heads-up sit & go. Addamo came out on top and received $87,002, leaving Steven to head into the night with the $62,697 runner-up prize.

Astedt Comes Out On Top in the $2,100 PLO PKO
Astedt is best known for his No-Limit Hold'em prowess, but it appears his Pot-Limit Omaha game is also top-notch, judging by how the Swede came out on top in the $2,100 PLO 6-Max PKO event.
The specialist format drew in 53 entrants, who built a $106,000 prize pool. In this event, all seven PokerStars players who reached the final table won a slice of the regular prize pool, with bounty payments boosting their take-home pay.
Austrian "aufzuckerter" was the first finalist to fall. They scooped $5,947, which was more than fifth and sixth-place combined. Some $3,750 of the Austrian's prize stemmed from bounties, while the fifth and sixth-place finishers didn't send any opponents to the showers before they themselves busted.
"Domcel" of Lithuania and Belarmino "PaGaOVelhinto" de Souza were those bounty-less stars; they walked away with $2,549 and $2,956, respectively.
Malta's Domenico "ziototo94" Gala fell in fourth for $7,033 before Hungary's "Argentin_God" crashed by the wayside in third, a finish good for $15,488.
Astedt and Denmark's "Dooppe" locked horns in the final battle of the final table, each having locked in $16,386 from the regular prize pool. Such was Astedt's dominance throughout the event, he secured a $23,750 bounty payment when he came out on top, while the second-place finisher added only $2,250 to his haul. In total, Astedt banked $40,136 for his efforts.

Other PokerStars Results
It wasn't only Astedt winning big for Sweden because Alfred "Kzzon" Karlsson padded his bankroll with $39,326. Karlsson outlasted 198 opponents in a $1,050 NLHE 6-max Carnival Series event to become a PokerStars champion.
Other well-known players who added a Sunday title to their resume included Benjamin "BC1989RF" Chalot, Leonard "Grozzorg" Maue, Ramiro "ramastar88" Petrone, and Ilya "Leqenden" Anatsky.

Three big Carnival Series PKO events started on January 28 but don't crown their champions until January 29.
Finland's "PotnaPekka" is the player to catch in the $1,050 NLHE 8-Max PKO where 55 of the 393 starters remain in the hunt for a $32,212 top prize plus a bounty payment likely to be even larger. Astedt returns fourth in chips, while Team PokerStars' Neymar "Neymar-jr" Jr. and Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot are also in the mix with top 15 stacks.
A PKO Carnival Series edition of the Sunday Million saw 10,612 players buy in but only 356 of those starters have chips in front of them. Germany's "Afterpub" is the chip leader in the tournament that will award a $60,486 top prize.
Latvia's "gintsg" leads the way in the $22 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed NLHE 8-Max PKO. They've already collected $181 worth of bounties and are on course to rake in a $9,983 top score.
