The Casino Barcelona, the venue that traditionally welcomes the annual PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT), is hosting a different poker festival. From October 13-18, the casino is hosting the Sixers Poker Series, where every tournament is played six-handed.
The Sixers Series kicks off on October 13 with the first of two days in a €220 No-Limit Hold'em event called the Niners. This is followed by a €1,200 buy-in High Roller on October 14 before the multi-day €660 Main Event commences on October 15.
While the Main Event is whittling its field, a €230 NLHE Progressive Knockout, a €335 Mystery Bounty, and a €220 Closer take place.
Casino Barcelona Sixers Series Schedule
€150,000 Guaranteed Main Event
While all of the Sixers Series tournaments will be fiercely fought, it is the Main Event that everyone will have their eye on. Costing €660 to enter, the Sixers Main Event comes with a €150,000 guarantee on its prize pool.
All players, whether they buy in directly or win their way in via the plentiful €125 buy-in satellites, sit down with 50,000 chips. Blinds increase every 45 minutes on Day 1a and Day 1b, but are 20 minutes long on the turbo-structured Day 1c.
Unlimited re-entries are permitted until the start of Level 15.
In October 2024, Casino Barcelona ran a similar €660 NLHE Sixers Main Event. It saw a €159,660 prize pool after nearly 300 entries. The top four finishers won at least €10,500, with the anonymous champion taking home €30,000 for their €660 investment.
If short-handed No-Limit Hold'em tournaments are your speciality, you should at least consider heading to the Casino Barcelona to compete in the Sixers Series.
