The 2009 Asian Poker Tour Kicks Off! 0001

The hottest poker event to ever hit the Asian continent is finally here.

The 2009 Asian Poker Tour is back in the sizzling city of Manila, Philippines and the next few days will see some of the biggest poker players from around the world grace the felt at the Dusit Thani Hotel. The event will run until February 1 and will feature a $2,500+$200 Main Event set to draw over 300 participants from both the local poker community and beyond.

Last year's Philippines leg of the APT saw Australian David Saab take home the title and the $280,000 first prize after outlasting a field of 316 players. David has confirmed he will be back this year and you can expect to see him hit the felt on Day 1B of the Main Event.

As much as it is known for being the most sought after poker tournament in Asia, the Asian Poker Tour is also known for their legendary parties. This year will not be any different with highlights that include a FHM/DafaPoker Player Party with plenty of cover models and a chauffeured bus to take player's to all the hottest nightspots in Manila!

If you're missing out on the APT this year but still want to get in on the action, why not purchase a piece of The APT Poker Pack – six hand selected brand ambassadors and poker professionals that go by the names Nam Le, JC Tran, David 'Chino' Rheem, Kwang Soo Lee, Steve Sung and Quinn Do – on leading poker staking website ChipMeUp.

As always, don't go away as we'll be bringing you a continuous stream of videos direct from the floor of the Dusit Thani hotel throughout the tournament – all available on TV.PokerNews.
