Brazil's "petty1997" Wins the God of the Arena PKO Main Event ($30,444)
The God of the Arena Progressive Knockout (PKO) Series was a huge success at 888poker.
The festival smashed its $1 million guarantee over 33 tournaments with 36,659 entries generating nearly $1.4 million in guaranteed prizes.
The biggest event took place on Sunday, April 12 when Brazil's "petty1997" won a grand total of $30,444 ($21,408 in prize + $9,036 in bounties) in the Event #31: $200,000 Main Event.

The PKO Series came to a smashing conclusion with a $200,000 guaranteed Main Event featuring just a $109 buy-in. Of course, there were plenty of satellites and even free paths to get into this event without paying the full cost.
The $200,000 guarantee was smashed with 2,535 entrants coming out in full force to generate a healthy $253,500 prize pool.
The final table featured players from six different countries including two each from Brazil, Canada, and the United Kingdom and one each from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine.
The two Canadians were among the first three players eliminated at the final table with "guydeet39" taking seventh place for $4,808 (3,612 in prize + $1,196 in bounties) and "dovester123" settling for ninth place for $1,994 ($1,368 in prize + $626 in bounties).
Sandwiched in between was United Kingdom's James "jamesc127" Currie in eighth place for $3,270 ($2,408 in prize + $862 in bounties).
The next trio of players eliminated included Ukraine's "TOPTeg" in fourth place for $9,227 ($8,328 in prize money + $989 in bounties), United Kingdom's "marioo1985" in fifth place for $7,361 ($6,020 in prize + $1,341 in bounties), and Brazil's "fabriorenatos" in sixth place for $5,253 ($4,816 in prize + $437 in bounties).
The final three players were each guaranteed a five-figure payout for their $109 buy-in. Russia's "NSP14" was the first of the three to hit the rail after getting eliminated in third place for $14,446 ($11,661 prize + $2,785 in bounties).
By this point, the tournament was a marathon in the making. After 12 1/2 hours of play, "petty1997" eliminated Belarus' "ALLCasH90" to win the top prize of $30,444 ($21,408 prize + $9,036 in bounties). Meanwhile, "ALLCasH90" didn't walk away emptyhanded as this player banked a healthy consolation prize of $19,732 ($15,235 prize + $4,497 in bounties).

While "petty1997" was the biggest winner during the God of the Arena Progressive Knockout (PKO) Series, there were many other big winners in the other 32 events.
Russia's "D3n1sk4PP" might have been the biggest star of the series after shipping two of the biggest events including Event #2: $150,000 Tune Up for $22,475 ($14,193 prize + $8,282 in bounties) and Event #18: $40,000 9-Max for $10,556 ($4,896 prize + $5,661 in bounties).
