Biography

Vivek Rajkumar is an Indian former professional poker player living in Seattle, United States. Rajkumar was mainly active in the live poker world from 2006 through 2010. He has over $8 million in live poker tournament earnings.

Rajkumar had already forged a reputation as a fearless online MTT grinder when he began flexing in the live poker arena. His first trip to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2007 saw Rajkumar cash five times, including a sixth-place finish in a $3,000 Limit Hold'em event.

In February 2008, Rajkumar won a $2,595 buy-in event at the L.A. Poker Classic for $113,425, which was his first six-figure haul in live poker. Seven months later, Rajumar became a World Poker Tour (WPT) champion after taking down the $10,000 WPT Borgata Open Open in Atlantic City for a cool $1,424,500.

Rajkumar continued playing in big buy-in events at the WPT and WSOP, and came close to becoming a two-time WPT champion in February 2011, when he finished second in the $10,000 L.A. Poker Classic for $908,730. He then finished fourth in the $10,000 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars event for an additional $295,800 two months later. Eight weeks after that big score, Rajkumar finished fourth in a $100,000 Super High Roller event, a finish worth $336,240.

Rajkumar stepped away from playing poker professionally in 2011. However, he returned to the tables and played in the WSOP Main Event in 2012-2015, cashing three times. In August 2019, after four years away from grind, Rajkumar banked a career-best £3,000,000 ($3,652,345) for a fifth-place finish in the £1,050,000 Triton Million for Charity event in London.
