2025 WSOP Day 19: Wins By Sternheimer & Vieira Result in Big Points; Negreanu Making Another Run
The 25K Fantasy was shaken up again on Friday night as two drafted players scored bracelets. Philip Sternheimer (Team Handsome Horse) became the league’s highest performer up to this point with 225 points off six cashes, the biggest being $763,087 for winning Event #36: $10,000 PLO Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship for his first bracelet.
Similarly, Joao Vieira (Team Lady Gaga) moved up to sixth with 152 points thanks largely to winning his fourth bracelet and $2,649,158 in prize money for taking down Event #38: $100,000 High Roller. And while he didn’t quite win, Thomas Taylor got some points for Team Liaison for finishing runner-up in Event #39: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. for $131,916.
Day 19 of the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) will also have some fantasy poker implications starting with Day 3 of Event #40: $5,000 Seniors High Roller, which has four 25K Fantasy players remaining – David Stamm (Team Frog Poison), David “ODB” Baker (Team Australia), Mike Matusow (Team Negreanu), and Matt Glantz (Team Hoggers) – as well as a lone ODB Fantasy player in Daniel Lowery, though he is the shortest stack in the tournament.
The final table is set in Event #41: $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship and four of them are 25K players including chip leader Viktor Blom (Team Dinkers). He’s joined by Anthony Zinno (Team Negreanu), Daniel Negreanu (Team Negreanu), and Scott Bohlman (Team Brown’s Bargain Bin), as well as ODB Bonus player Max Hoffman.
More than 100 players will return for Day 2 of Event #42: $1,000 PLO including chip leader John Riordan (Team Splashy Octopi), Mike Leah (Team Splashy Octopi), Dylan Weisman (Team Dinkers), and Frank Brannan (Team Splash Sports), among others.
Likewise, nearly 100 players will return for Day 2 of Event #43: $1,500 Razz including Phil Hui (Team Brown’s Bargain Bin), Matt Vengrin (Team Brown’s Bargain Bin), Allan Le (Team Dinkers), Calvin Anderson (Team Money Mondays Podcast), and Hal Rotholz (Team Phenom).
How to Follow the Action
Remember, PokerNews has been tracking $25K Fantasy players in our live updates and has even made it simple to follow the action by tagging all players with either a 25K Fantasy or ODB badge. That allows you to utilize our chip count filter option to follow only those players (just tick the 25K Fantasy or ODB badge); what’s more, each blog will have a “25K Fantasy” tab that if you click all you will see are hands played by 25K Fantasy players.
