Jamie Lunt is the 2017 888Live London Festival High Roller Champion taking home £34,985.

Lunt came out on top after a marathon Day 2 that finished at 6 a.m. when be defeated Jonathan Bowers in a relatively short heads up after a deal was agreed. Bowers took home £36,115 but Lunt has the trophy and the title,

A total of 69 entries contributed to the guarantee smashing £136,626 prizepool.

Many of the biggest names on the U.K poker scene and beyond turned up for the festival’s High Roller including WSOP Main Event Champ Martin Jacobson, Team 888Poker Ambassador Chris Moorman, Niall Farrell, Ludovic Geilich, Tom Hall, Jack Salter and a brief appearance on Day 2 from another 888 Ambassador Dominik Nitsche.

The Day 2 players were being eliminated at a brisk pace but that slowed down a little as the final table approached and the money bubble loomed.

With 8 places paid it was Orpen Kisacikoglu who bubbled when his flopped set lost out to a turned flush of Iaron Lightbourne for all the chips on the river.

Jonathan Bowers opened for 125,000 and Ludovic Geilich three-bet to 380,000.

Bowers called all the streets and a shove on the end from Geilich.

The final board read {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Bowers had {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} which was good against the {k-}{5-} of Geilich.

Geilich didn't have many chips after that and they were soon gone.

The flop was {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Hall led for 48,000 which Geilich called.

The turn was the {k-Hearts} and Hall bet again, this time 91,000 Geilich called.

The river was the {a-Diamonds} and a check from Hall saw Geilich bet 118,000.

Hall had around 200,000 behind and at 4 seconds left to act he used a Time Bank chip to get 60 seconds extra. As that ticked down he called and Geilich showed him his {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

Hall tossed his cards in the muck and he was eliminated in the next hand in 14th spot.

The 888Live Poker Festival London continues today with Day 2 of the High Roller which will play down to a winner.

Katie Moorman leads the way with 577,400 while Aymon Hata is second on 358,400 and Ludovic Geilich third with 349,000.

There are 32 players left from 59 entries but late registration is open until the end of the first level today.

Also on the schedule at Aspers Casino, Westfield today is Day 1a of the Main Event featuring an amazing giveaway for the first 200 players to register before the end of the first level of the day.

888Poker in partnership has 200 Immerse 360 Action Camera worth £200 as prizes for the lucky first 200 players.
